Part1:
1. The Reading Program helps the students to enhance their ability in reading and to know which of the students need attention to improve their performance in reading.
2. Not really, during the reading camp, the teacher (Mrs.Caimen) told me that the lesson plan given has many activities and the goal of the program in reading was not really focus.
3. Yes, because the target participants are the incoming Grade2, Grade 3 and Grade 6. In Grade 2 and 3, not all the students can read clearly and faster, some can’t read and others don’t want to read. And in Grade 6 they will have readiness for their next level which is high school life.
4. No, because the workbook was a bit hard for the students. I noticed that they can’t do it on their own and if they do, it has many errors. The questions in the workbooks are difficult to understand and not appropriate for the Grade 6 students.
5. Not all the learning materials because I think our teacher taught in traditional way. The students get bored in the class, even me feel the same.
6. The strengths of the program were they are prepared, they provide workbooks, lesson plan and even the food for the students also for us. While the weaknesses was they are not assure that all the students has been attend the reading camp.
Part2: Reflections
1. Yes, because during the reading camp I had the opportunity to be ready for my future career, eventhough Mrs.Caimen didn’t allow me to teach but she let me to ask questions, give exams and guide the students in their activities.
In our classroom, I felt that I was in my own classroom and I am their ` teacher not their teacher aid.
2. My meaningful experience was not really good; actually it was one of my unforgettable moments in my life. The situation was the Supervisor caught me sitting in the chair while the students are playing. The Supervisor told me that even though I’m only a teacher aid I will allow the students to play inside the classroom.
