Yes to Deterrents

Americans should continue to help the health of its citizens. American is known as a powerful force in the western world both politically and militarily. In the wake of such political and military strength it would behoove one to think that the country does not care about its citizens smoking. Report Post

Most definitely YES

Just look at Americans today. Most don't think for themselves. A lot of Americans are too ignorant to realize the health risks that go along with smoking. I feel as if the previous generation were more educated on the health risks that come when smoking, I feel as the number of 40-60 year old people would be significantly lower. Posted by: megan96

Individuals Have The Right

No, that would be completely ridiculous. Not only is our media discouraging smoking, but making the government involved with a habit/addiction people have is completely ridiculous and absurd. It is a stress reliever, and simply, no one else's business. Why must the government be involved? The government, in my opinion, is involved in too many things if you ask me. No more nanny state

The inherent health risks of smoking are well known; those consenting adults who choose to puff away, regardless of the risks of cancer and other illnesses, should be left to their own devices WITH the understanding that society should not have to shoulder the burden of increased health care costs associated with smoking related illnesses. It's not up to the government to police individual choice when it is affecting the individual rather than society.

ractically no benefits

As an eight-year smoker, I can safely say that the single benefit granted to nicotine is a brief burst of confrontation, the burst that probably dissipates along with all of the other light-headed feelings you get from smoking a cigarette after you've had a few and suddenly you've become addicted. The trade-off is that addiction, lung cancer, heart problems, and oral cancer. Report Post

I Could Lie

I know smoking is not good for you. I don't even have to guess or feel like I'm taking a side on this opinion. There is overwhelming medical evidence that smoking causes cancer and a plethora of other ailments. No one is going to say smoking is good for you. Report Post

Smoking is bad, mmkay.

Smoking is bad for you in every single way imaginable. There are no positives or benefits out of smoking a cigarette. It is mad for you based on the diseases you get, the damage it does to your body, and the way it slowly degrades everything that makes you alive. Report Post

Of course not.
This question to me is a complete no-brainer. Even those who smoke clearly know that it isn't good for them at all. Smoking has been clinically proven to be the one of the number one causes of cancer and other very serious health conditions. Absolutely not, is smoking good for anyone. Report Post
