Customer Satisfaction Level of Bajaj Bike Users
Bajaj Pulsar is a motorcycle brand owned by Bajaj Auto in India. The two wheeler was developed by the product engineering division of Bajaj Auto in association with Tokyo R&D [1] and later with motorcycle designer Glynn Kerr. Currently there are five variants available, with engine capacities of 135 cc, 150 cc, 180 cc, 200 cc, and 220 cc. Previously it was also offered with a 200 cc DTS-i oil cooled engine, which now has been discontinued. Instead a new version Pulsar 200NS was launched in 2012.[2] With an average monthly sales of around 86,000 units in 2011, Pulsar has a market share of 47% in its segment.[3] By April 2012,more than five million units of Pulsar were sold .[4]

Before the introduction of the Pulsar, the Indian motorcycle market trend was towards fuel efficient, small capacity motorcycles (that formed the 80–125 cc class). Bigger motorcycles with higher capacity virtually did not exist (except for Enfield Bullet). The launch and success of Hero Honda CBZ in 1999 showed that there was demand for performance bikes. Bajaj took the cue from there on and launched the Pulsar twins in India on 24 November 2001.[5] Since the introduction and success of Bajaj Pulsar, Indian youth began expecting high power and other features from affordable motorcycles.

The project was faced with internal resistance, reservations by Mckinsey and doubts on its effects on Bajaj's relation with Kawasaki. The project required approximately 36 months for completion and cost Bajaj ₹ 1 billion.[6] Pulsar-180 engine sound

The legendary motorcycle company, Harley-Davidson was founded in 1903, by William D, Walter, Arthur and William S. Harley right in their own backyard. By 1909, they had introduced the first V-twin engine, which is the company standard to this day. Harley-Davidson motorcycles were found to be useful during World War I, where they supplied 20,000 to the military. After this war, the depression threatened the motorcycle industry, and Harley-Davidson and Indian were the only ones to survive through the 1930 's. Then during the Second World War they found themselves in the light again, this time supplying 90,000 motorcycles. In 1953 their competitor, Indian closed and Harley-Davidson was the only American motorcycle manufacturer for the next 46 years. By 1970 the United States was importing motorcycles from Japan that were lower priced, imposing on Harley-Davidson 's market share. By 1986, after convincing the International Trade commission to remove tariffs on imported heavyweight Japanese motorcycles one year early, they regained their place at the top of the heavyweight market beating Honda. President Regan was amazed with the company and called them an "American success story." After this, the company continued to grow and in 2003, Harley-Davidson Inc. celebrated their 100th year anniversary.…

    Royal Enfield

Royal Enfield – Brand Rejuvenation of Motorcycle in India The year 2000 could have been decisive. That was when the board of directors at Eicher Motors decided to either shut down or sell off Royal Enfield - the company's Chennai-based motorcycle division, which manufactured the iconic Bullet motorbikes. For all its reputation, the sales of the bike was down to 2,000 units a month against the plant's installed capacity of 6,000; losses had been mounting for years. Just one person stood up to the board, insisting Royal Enfield should get another chance. He was Siddhartha Lal, a third generation member of the Delhi-based Lal family, promoters of the Eicher group of companies. Lal, then 26, was an unabashed Bullet fan: he even rode a red coloured Bullet while leading the baraat (procession) to his wedding venue, instead of the traditional horse. "The board agreed to give me a chance," says Lal. "It was not because of its confidence in me, but because the business was doing so badly it could hardly get any worse." Lal felt Royal Enfield could still be saved. The bike had its reputation, a cult following, an instantly recognisable build, and aspirational value. Changes had to be made to keep up with the times and make the bike more acceptable, and there in lay the problem. Royal Enfield fans liked the bikes exactly the way they had always been. "We needed changes to attract new customers but by doing so risked losing existing ones," says R.L. Ravichandran, whom Lal brought in as CEO in 2005 as part of his revival effort. Ravichandran had earlier worked with both TVS Motor and Bajaj Auto. "We were in a peculiar situation," he adds. Rejuvenating Times The change had to be a calibrated one. The mistaken notions of prospective customers had to be addressed, and any reservations about Bullet and Thunderbird, which was launched in 2002, removed. At the same time, Lal and Ravichandran were clear that the individuality of Royal Enfield bikes should not be compromised. "We did…
