This paper will cover the business research process based on my experience in the workplace. This is a summary of the business research process of my experience as a direct support professional at Tri-County Center. This is a business which allows mentally disabled adults live more independent lives and helps them become more of a part of the community.
What is business research? It is the method a company makes to decide the most efficient, productive, and ethical way to make money and generate customers. For example, starting any form of business has a need for research into the goal customer and the competition. Tri-County Center is the leading center for providing assistance to mentally disabled adults in East Tennessee. The clients are able to live in their own homes and earn money by working for factories. Some of the clients are there while their parent or guardian is at work, in which case they still work, just in the ware house of the center. Through research Tri-County Center has taken business of other facilities because of the freedom they offer for the clients.
The founder of Tri-County Center wanted a place where he could watch over his younger brother without leaving him in a nursing home or mental institution. He also wanted his brother to be able to make choices on what he wanted, when he wanted. The facility has grown in the past ten years because the center allows the clients to earn money, spend the money on what they want. It also offers the older clients, who have no family a safe place to work and live. The others facilities that have shut down were more like nursing homes, only allowing the clients certain times to do certain things, and they were unable to live like individuals who have no mental disabilities.
Thanks to this non-profit organization mentally disabled adults can live more independently and make their own choices. The founder was able to make the choice of parents or guardians easy to

Sometimes a problem is already identified and a company conducts research to make repairs; Unknown issues also can be identified through business research. Business research is something that is done in every company in one form or another. I have had my own fair share of experience with business research and I have to admit that it is not as easy as doing research papers in school. I worked for a convenience store and had to do business research at least once a month in order to try to keep my store current with other stores and our customers.…

In phase II, three different safety devices (Becton Dickinson 's resheathable winged steel needle; Bio-Plexus 's bluntable vacuum-tube blood-collection needle; and Concord Portex 's vacuum-tube blood-collection needle with a hinged recapping sheath) were introduced to replace conventional phlebotomy devices for the next 12 months. When the survey was repeated near the end of this 12-month phase, needle stick injuries were significantly reduced with all three products. A total of 41 needle sticks were reported by the 1,421 respondents-a substantial decrease from pre-change findings. Of these injuries, 25 occurred prior to activation of the device 's safety feature after removal from the vein, and six occurred during activation. Thus, the only multi-center study to examine the effect of safety devices on the rate of needle stick injuries found a significant…

The purpose of business research is to allow a business to set itself apart from its competitors by gathering as much information on the industry that it can and utilizing that data to create unique methodologies and business practices. Researching a business will provide information on things such as what products consumers like or do not like to buy, what the start-up costs will be, and whether any new business opportunity is viable to undertake. Researching also reveals the profitability potential of products and services and how they size up competitively with similar products available in the market. The most successful business in each industry are perfect examples of how to successfully market, advertise, and sell your products so they should always be considered. According to chapter 1 of the textbook, it does not matter whether you are a small mom & pop bakery or a large corporation like Nabisco, business research is equally important to your company. In my personal experience I have found that the company policies and procedures set forth by the upper management will directly reflect how the employees will react to their clients and impact the business.…

There are six basic stages to the research process. Stage 1 is clarifying the research question. This would be the process in identifying the problem that is prompting the research. Stage 2 is proposing research, which would be the act of identifying the resources necessary to do the research. The third stage is designing the research project, or deciding which method to use to gather the information. Stage 4 involves data collection and preparation, which is gathering the data and making it ready to be evaluated. Stage 5 would be the data analysis and interpretation stage. Stage 5 is defining what the data is saying about the problem. The final stage, stage 6 is reporting the results. This is breaking down the interpretation into a presentation that shows the meaning of the data collected. (Cooper & Schindler, 2014) This is the process used by Paramount Pictures recently when it was in contract negotiations with the DVD rental company, Redbox.…

The “Bringing Research to Life” section of Chapter 3 of Business Research Methods describes a scenario in which Myra Wines is part of a research team hired by the U.S. Army to determine whether the military’s munitions testing area was contributing to the high civilian death rate. Local activists believed the area was an environmental hazard and were attempting to force the closure of the firing range. The Army’s hypothesis was that its dud shells would only ignite if another live bomb caused it to explode and the civilian deaths were unrelated to the munitions testing area. Wines hypothesized that the duds could ignite and cause harm to civilians without leaving evidence of the event (University of Phoenix, 2011, Week One Reading).…
