The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time by Mark Haddon provides suspense and sympathy at the same time. Fourteen years old Christopher Boone has austswim. He lives alone with his father in Swindon England. Christopher believes his mother died of a heart attack in a hospital. Later in the story he discovers his mother his alive and in fact very healthy. As a reaction to this Christopher could no longer trust his father and attempts to find and live with his mother. One day Christopher sees his neighbor, Mrs.Shear’s dog died in her garden. Mrs.Shears sees him holding the dog and blood all of her, him and says that he has killed the dog. As a reaction to that Christopher is now determined to find the killer. Christopher attends a special school and he has a very brilliant mind but his understand. As the story goes on
Christopher extraordinary mind allows him to be great at observing things and to have a very good memory. He explains to the reader “My memory is like a film. That is why i'm really good at remembering things.... And when people ask me to remember something.I can simply press rewind and fast forward and pause like on a video recorder (page 76).” His mind helps him find his mother and remember all the details how to get to her. Another example of Christopher's extraordinary mind helping him out was when Christopher escapes from the police officer on the train and finds a safe hiding place. In that hiding place Christopher knows he needs to calm down, so he starts to do math problems. He explains to the reader “And I did some more quadratic equations like 0=437x2=103x=11 and 0= 79x2=43x=2089 and I made some of the coefficients large so that they were hard to solve(page 163).” Christopher uses his brilliant mind to help him get through a difficult time. Christopher has many problems throughout the story, but his autism helps him face and overcome those
