Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time Summary

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, has an odd but eye opening story. It was written by Mark Haddon. The story takes place in England of the year 1998. The main character lives in Swidon, England, which is where most of the story takes place. As the story progress, the setting change to the different trains he took going to London, England. The story is told in a first person view of the main character, Christopher John Francis Boone. Christopher Boone is a gifted fifteen year old boy. He excels in mathematics, but he has problems understanding people’s behavior and has struggle communicating with others. This is the result of his autism. He hates the color yellow and brown. He is very picky and doesn’t like things that aren’t planned or logical. Christopher is a student in a special school. He enjoys his A-level math the most. Christopher is the child of Mr. and Mrs. Boone. Mr. and Mrs. Shears were family friends when he was little. He is neighbors with Mrs. Alexander and Mrs. Shears. I don’t particularly like Christopher because he treated his father coldly. Even though his father lied, I wouldn’t care because what Christopher’s mom did was unforgivable. I think lying was reasonable. Christopher’s father is Ed Boone. Ed Boone is a loving and protective father. He prepares all Christopher’s meals and tries to understand Christopher’s behavior. Mr. Boone owns a heating maintenance and boiler repair business. Mr. Boone bottles up all his emotions about his wife leaving him that at stressful moments he explodes. I like Mr. Boone because he’s a good parent. He takes care of his child. Christopher stops trusting his father but Mr. Boone is persistent and tries to form the bond all over again. Christopher’s mom is Judy Boone. Mrs. Boone is short tempered, impatient but loving of Christopher. Mrs. Boone’s profession change quite a few times. She was a secretary and then later a surveyor. Mrs. Boone was married to Mr. Boone but she started an affair with
