Some causes of tension in this case study are, the father know very little English, but he seems very stern. The father is the head of his family and he feels the need to be protective and cautious of his family with very little trust. The child is probably afraid of the father. Diverse families raise their kids, teaching them to be more independent at a very young age (p.351). Ahmad seems very unhappy. Ahmad is the new kid in class and he’s afraid and it takes time to adjust to a new setting. The older sibling (sister) wears a hearing aid.
