Cultural Diversity And Stereotypes
• To not be bias and stereotypical can be achieved. I simply believe that you must understand one’s culture and background in order to have better knowledge and understanding of that person. You must be able to embrace the cultural diversity and individual differences that characterize patients, populations, and the health care team as well as developing a trusting relationship with patients, families, and other team members. Lastly, communication is vital. In order to understand where someone else is coming from you must be able to communicate effectively as well as listen.
