Cullinary Arts: A Career In Cooking
For my research project I chose Cullinary Arts for my career choice. The reason for this choice is ever since I was little I've had a passion for cooking. By the time I was in middle school I started dreaming of owning my own resturaunt. The definition of Cullinary means related to cooking. It is the art of preperation, cooking, and presentation of food, usually in the form of meals. I made this choice because cooking is fun and and a great way to make money while enjoying what you love. It is also a great oppertunity to learn about other countries and the foods they eat as well. To pursue a career in cooking schooling is required. I will need to search for a good college with a nice Cullinary Arts program. Most programs take about 2 …show more content…
Schooling will help to develope some of these skills and qualities, such as how to use a variety of knives and opperating special equipment. Also recipes and sanitation will be taught. The type of qualities you will need would be organization, creativity and the abillity to work under pressure. You should also have knowledge of a variety of foods. When persuing any kind of career, one imporant thing to take into accout would be the salary you will be making. My research shows that a local chefs salary can range from $17,000 a year to $30,000 a year. National chefs who work all over the country have a pay ranging anywhere from $16,000 to $100,000 a year. The salary depends on how good you are and how experienced you are. The more training you have the better the jobs and money you will get. My next step after cullinary school and training would be finding out how to get my own resturaunt started. To do this I will need to go to another school to get my Bachelors or Associates Degree in buisness. I recently learned that this could take up to four years to obtain a buisness degree. Some schools offer programs that only take two years. So all together to reach my goal I will need atleast four years of
