The pentagon attack
The purpose of this case study is to look in-dept. the September 11 attack at the pentagon the event is one that is controversial for a lot of people, I am choosing to write about this subject because I feel that the subject is not well elaborated on, I want to take the time to look into the event in details to find out how it really happened. To reach this goal, I intend to utilize resources derived from the internet, newspapers, and also the introduction to homeland security text book. This will enable me have various outlets to compare information before they are used.
On the 11th day of September 2001 terrorist hijacked 3 planes, and crashed them into the twin tower of the world trade center in New York, the pentagon and the field in Pennsylvania. But for the purpose of this case study, I will be focusing on the attack at the pentagon, The pentagon is the headquarters of the United States department of defense. It is located in Arlington county Virginia. it is used as a symbol of the united states military “ The pentagon “ is mostly used to refer to the department of defense, it is also considered the world largest office building with floor space of about 6,500,000 . It houses about 28,000 military and civilian employees and close to 3,000 non- defense support personnel’s . It was designed by George Bergstom, an American architect of Norwegian heritage in (1876-1955).built by john Mcshain of Philadelphia who was a contractor and Colonel Leslie groves over saw the project for the U.S army. On September 11 2001 A Boeing 757-223, American airlines flight 77 was hijacked by terrorist and crashed into the west side of the pentagon, killing 189people, The five hijackers, 59 others aboard the plane and 125 in the building . it was the first significant attack to U.S government facility since the burning of Washington by the British during the war in 1812.the burning of Washington in 1814 was an event during the war in 1812 between the

    On the morning of September 11th 2001 a series of 4 coordinated attacks were carried out on the United States of America by the terrorist group Al-Qaeda. Landmarks such as the World Trade Centre (WTC) were targeted, by 19 Al-Qaeda terrorists who had hijacked 4 US airliners to be used to suicide bomb these landmarks.
