Introducción
Crocs Inc. se formo en el 2002 en Colorado, E.U.A. y actualmente es una de las marcas y empresas con mayor crecimiento en el mundo. La empresa inicio diseñando y creando calzado para todos los segmentos de edades, bajo la marca Crocs que actualmente se venden en más de 100 países.

El calzado CROCS posee una característica que hace de la marca su principal fortaleza la cual es propiedad de la empresa y es la resina con la que se hacen el calzado, Croslite.

Croslite es un compuesto plástico el cual posee una suavidad muy confortable, es ligero y además puede tomar la forma del pie. Croslite tiene la propiedad de crearse en diferentes colores, lo cual dio una gamma de colores para el diseño del calzado.

Los compradores encontraron en el calzado Crocs las siguientes características:

Ligero
Anti derrapante
Cómodo
Libre de malos olores

El éxito de CROCS por su calzado y su tecnología no pudo se logrado sin su eficiente manejo dentro de la cadena de suministro, lo cual fue un punto de competencia con respecto al mercado tradicional.

Los márgenes de ganancia en la industria hasta el 2006 indicaban que CROCS poseía un 56% de sus ganancias, superior a las de Nike
