In this growing twentieth century it is important to know our practices inside out accurately regardless of which field we work in, whether it be nursing, IT, logistics etc it is critical to know what to do and how to do the work for a satisfactory outcome. In nursing, it has been said that in the coming years there will be much greater need for nurses in Australia. In saying that, it is very important that nurses know their practises from scratch.
Nurses need to take relevant actions when needed; they must perform correct and ethical duties. As mentioned in Cowards article on reflective models, it has been mentioned the importance of reflective practices in nursing workforce, reflection in the context of learning is basically examining our personal thoughts and action in order to perform under new situations (Coward 2011). Here it is explained that reflective thinking is critical in today’s nursing work field because nurses know their practices, however they do not know why they are performing such tasks.
