From: Time to expand our views on education.
Education in university is a common problem in many countries. “Time to expand our views on education” is written by Nguyen Thi Phuong Nguyen show some problems that education in Vietnam has. This essay will discuss about some argument of the author. Nguyen Thi Phuong Nguyen suggest that the shortage of seats in universities in Vietnam because many students want to come in. As the result, many private higher educational institutions are appeared to solve the problems for students who can not get in to universities although many of those institutions are not good. She also asserts about Vietnamese people are obsessed that only university degrees can bring successful life, but Vocational training can decrease the pressure on universities and many questionable practices, it is also a part which contribute good qualities of life. Firstly, it is true that most of high school’s students want to take good seats in universities and they try hard to win the competition but the other will not know where to go. Thus, private higher educational institutions are good solution. Obviously, students have a second chance to learn in universities because those institutions have the lower mark requirement and students have to pay much more money than public universities to get in but some of them may have bad facilities and their lessons are ineffective because they just focus on number of students can not pass public universities, not on their qualities. However, there are many good school with high quality of teaching methods, apply technology and make good reputation such as RMIT so that we can not say all international school is bad and ignore them to be placed in our educational system.
