Her face was full of worry and I walked her over to the fire place draping a blanket on her shoulders. She immediately latched onto my side and began to sob and shake. I felt bad and slightly concerned because it wasn’t everyday a girl ends up in my lap past dusk especially a crying one. Summarize the Interaction in Narrative Style: This interaction was from a 10 minute segment of a 45 minute session. I chose this interaction because I was able to learn so much new information on the client’s history and his mother’s understanding of his disability. There is significant trauma that this family experienced, and after this interaction I was able to discover more about the incident and how his mother is handling it herself. This was also a good representation of how much mom is in need of therapy, and how hyper focused she can get on certain subjects. This whole session the clinician and the DCF worker had to redirect mom’s attention and try and figure out what she was trying to communicate.…

I am on the rough turf with the ball in my hands and blue cleats in my peripheral vision. In that moment, all I could hear were the voices in my head yelling "no". My position as goalie contradicts many of my human instincts. The voices tell me not to sacrifice my body to save a shot, but I have been trained to do so. Anxiousness fills my body as I hit the ground, but relief overcomes my mind when I feel the ball inside my palms. The details of this image are a blur. I can only remember where this took place and when. The people in the image are only a vague memory, but the emotions are, oh, so real. Some moments will be forgotten, but the feelings in that moment will always be remembered.…

During my senior year, I had to find a quote that would best describe me. A quote that would define me as an unique individual and not make me fit in with my other classmates. Something that would really stress the importance of a specific struggle in my life and one quote that stood out to me was ‘’If you were absent during my struggle, do not expect to present during my success.” This was said by African-American actor and comedian Will Smith in the movie The Pursuit of Happiness. What makes this quite significant to my life? How did it affect my life? These are the questions I ask myself.…
