Essay 1 Taking the Interest Assessment reaffirmed most of the areas that I would be most intrigued in entering. The Interest Assessment revealed that “Investigative and Inspection” field would be the most fitting. The second category after Investigative and Inspection was the Social Service field. The career fields that stood out the most to me were the Federal Bureau of Investigations Agent, Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agent, and Bureau Of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms Special Agent. I find the Federal Bureau of Investigations Agent to be the most intriguing of the bunch. An FBI agent would require the vigorous training, but instill the tools that are necessary for one to survive. I believe my persona knowledge and skills could be very beneficial to country. FBI.gov states, “Each special agent must have the knowledge, skills, commitment, and intestinal fortitude to investigate terrorists, spies, and a raft of dangerous criminals—all while wielding their law enforcement powers with compassion for those they encounter and respect for the U.S. Constitution and the laws they enforce”. The statement here clearly implies the seriousness and commitment that it would require to be an FBI agent. If I could choose one to apply to, this would be the highest on my list. Secondly, and almost tied with the first career option, would be the Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agent. Enforcing the law and preventing the trafficking of drugs is a major problem and continues to grow. I believe this field would be very demanding and yet beneficial to the communities and families that have experienced deaths as a result to drug outrages. Finally, the Bureau Of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms Special Agent is a “highly trained special agents are responsible for investigating violations of Federal law relating to firearms, explosives, arson, and alcohol and tobacco diversion. These investigations involve surveillance, interviewing suspects and witnesses, making arrests, obtaining and executing search warrants, and searching for physical evidence”. (FTA.gov) This career would be very rewarding yet difficult. I have always found it appealing to complete challenges while bettering our country. It has always been appealing to serve our country in ways that are truly rewarding.
