Creative Writing: Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk
Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, the best beach in the world with food, roller coasters, and an extraordinary view of an ocean. Everywhere smelling either like fish or funnel cakes. Screaming and yelling with full of joy going down a steep hill on a rollercoaster. Saltwater waves crashing into the golden, rocky sand. People everywhere chilling in their colorful tents with barbecue cooking with a slight burning smell. Laughing and smiling with friends and families in all directions. Walking with my Aunt Sally, Uncle Billy, and my 2 cousins, Mimi and Emily. We were making our way into Santa Cruz, passing people with corndogs and Icees in their hands. Reaching the wooden stairs that was the entrance to the beach, we all took off over slippers to make it easier to walk. As …show more content…
I look down and see my dark blue shorts and my white jacket sleeves drenched in water. I can see my favorite slippers going to Canada, as I watch Emily laughing at me. “Man, your really weak.” Emily giggled “Wow, thanks.” I sarcastically whimpered All I could think about is what am I gonna wear for the rest of the day? I only been here for 20 minutes and I lose something already. I went to the tent and saw Aunt Sally, Uncle Billy, and Mimi relaxing in the tent, enjoying themselves. “I lost my slippers in the ocean” I moaned “What, how did that happened?” Aunt Sally asked “Well, Emily and I were in the ocean and a massive wave came and wash away my slippers.” I responded “Wait, don’t we have an extra pair of slippers in our backpacks?” Mimi asked “Oh yeah we do, so don’t worry.” Aunt Sally replied Few minutes later, I see Uncle Billy pointing at the rocky

I come from Charlotte, North Carolina, one of the most up and coming cities in America. My town is a beautiful, flourishing area with a lot to offer to a variety of people. With such diversification, we have not integrated our neighborhoods, schools, or the social scene nearly enough. Communities can become racially prevalent leading to separations in culture and heritage. I can see this in the high schools throughout the area during our football games or competitions which is depriving to everyone involved. Leaving people unaware of their surroundings creates a bubble of ignorance. Mallard creek provides so much culture as it is is zoned for so many areas, however, other schools are not provided the opportunity I am. As the severance continues,…

Yesterday Glenn and I experienced Loon Lake here in Northern California, and man was it a great experience! Loon lake is located in Northern California and is adjacent to the legendary Rubicon Trail. Our day started with meeting at In N Out in Auburn CA at 4:30 a.m.....well I was there at 4:30; Glenn showed up around 4:50 but I can say it was fashionably late, at least as fashionable as a person can be that early in the morning. During my twenty minute wait, surprisingly I wasn't alone at this In N out. There were about three vehicles I spotted while sitting on the trunk of my Toyota Solara drinking my morning coffee as I thought to myself...what good reason could someone have for being at a random In N out at such a random time? Keep in mind…

As soon as we got there My Uncle Shaun and I were put on tent duty. We didn’t have a camper, or a houseboat, so the most reasonable option was to bring tents! This side of my family doesn’t go camping much, so I found it very interesting that we were “tenting.” Mostly my uncle set up the tents, since I was about eleven and didn’t like to work. I mean, I still don't, who does? Anyways, because I had my swimming suit on, I found it very appealing to go for a swim. So I stepped in and I did not expect what I got! The water was warm, a whopping 80 degrees fahrenheit! I had never been in water so warm until I came here. Normally we go to lakes/reservoirs it’s usually Island Park, Jensen’s Grove, or American…

The first few steps after the boardwalk may feel rather rocky due to scattered sediments and tiny pebbles sticking on to the soles of your feet, but by halfway to the ocean, it starts getting smooth and cooler with every step you take. If laying around and catching some ray is not your type of fun, there are beach volleyball courts set up, kites to be flown here and safe swimming with lifeguards on the look out. Gazing at the sandy shore, you can see the roaring waves rushing in, toppling forts and castles made out of silken sands that shimmers under the blazing sun like tiny luminous stars in the night sky. Take advantage of this peaceful, quiet moment by standing on the shoreline and wait for the rolling ocean water slide by the ankles of your leg. As the waves try to pull back in, you will feel a sinking sensation on the heels of your foot due to the pressure of your weight and the surrounding sand. Lastly, there is an area for youths with a big, plastic palm tree set up in the middle and tiny sprinklers around it, spraying cold, chilling drops that can be felt even to the people strolling on the boardwalk. The beach is always crowded with families and couples to enjoy on their days off and especially on Friday nights, gorgeous firework shoot off can be seen starting at 9:30p.m. (Only during the summer…

On June 24, 2013 I Meagan Foster woke up in my beautiful brick house on 23rd street got dressed and walked throughout my house on this beautiful sunny day laughing at all the pictures hanging on the walls. I let my dog outside to play in the sun and the theshade that the trees provided. When I was done I went into the beautiful big kitchen to eat some breakfast where my husband Eddie was waiting for me. Eddie was an old and layback kind of guy. He surprised me with a picnic in the park for breakfast, and the scene was so gorgeous with all the people walking, birds chirping, and bees buzzing I almost didn’t notice his shoes were untied. I mean everyone forgets things but it is just so unlike him to forget to tie his shoes.…
