Creative Writing: River's POV
River’s POV After what felt like an eternity of searching, I finally found her resting against a tree, music blaring so loud that she didn’t notice me walk up or sit next to her. I sat there for a minute, waiting for her to take notice, and when no recognition had come forth, I tapped her shoulder gently. She ignored it completely, so I did it again. This time, a head full of dark hair and charcoal eyes whipped up so fast that I heard a crack. She stared at me bewildered, a conglomeration of expressions adorning her exhausted features.

“What the hell?” she blurted out, her voice raised.

“Umm, hi. I’m River. Sorry for… Scaring you, I guess.” My greeting was returned with a blank stare. “Okay… I can go now, I guess. I apologize for interrupting you.” Slowly standing up, I started to walk away, and when I had reached the door, I thought I heard a faint voice behind me say, “Please come back,” but I passed it off

I overlooked it, seeing as I’ve been imagining some pretty disturbing things lately. When I felt it again, I looked up, hoping it was just some artistry of my thouroughly messed up mind. I was greeted with a concerned face, I recognized her from some of my classes. I sat there, staring, absolutely dumbfounded for what seemed like an eternity, but in reality was probably only aorund fifteen seconds. “What the hell?” Oh my god. I can’t believe I just said that.

“Umm, hi. I’m River. Sorry for… Scaring you I guess.” I just stared at her. This is definitely an illusion. She looked at me questioningly, and then tilted her head slightly. “Okay…. I can go now, I guess. Sorry for interrupting you.” She walked away, and something inside of me broke.

“Please come back,” I whispered, half hoping she would hear me. The figure continued walking away until she was completely gone, and I once again faded into the background. Did that actually just happen?

In that heart-freezing, gut-wrenching moment, all eyes were on me. I whirled madly in my seat, scanning the entire audience. The bright room silhouetted the soft but unmistakable shadow of a woman. But there was no one there, of course. There couldn’t have been – yet I definitely did not feel alone.…

I rose from sleep and went searching for anyone to spend time with, but they all seemed to be frozen, like statues in a museum. I tapped on the shoulder of Jake, but he didn't move or even blink, and I screamed in terror and tasted metallic blood on my tongue. What is happening? I thought to myself as I sprinted to my room and tried, unsuccessfully, to fall back asleep. Eventually, I could, and when I woke up, the world seemed like it was back to normal, with the sound of people's laughter and conversations filling the once empty space.…

Great job on putting the paper together for us. I did a very small amount of editing and I added a reference for our textbook, where I am sure we all got most of our information. If there are other references we need to add them. I think I got us to 749 words with the reference citation.…

The water was still there, surrounding her, offering her the screams without sound. When she was in it, no one could hear her. But when I'm in there I can't breathe. Rosie stood, shaking. Her feet trembled as she drew closer, looking down into the water, seeing a poor reflection of herself in the clear waters. It's as scared as I am. Look...it's shaking. It's upset.…

In the beginning, before man was created, animals of the highest status ruled over the many regions of Earth. For the water region it was Killer Whales, for the sky region it was Eagles, and for the land region it was the Wolves. Before man, wolves didn’t stay in separate packs; they were one. Out of this, there was a kind and brave leader who went by the name of Luna. She ruled justly over her people, but being a just and powerful leader has its own costs.…

She stepped slowly from the doorframe, letting the light touch her old and faded face as if it were the sun that was to appreciate her presence. She hardly went on walks when I was around. She’d always just stay in and moan about it being too bright. I definitely remembered this old hag. And if you think 'old hag' was a bit of a harsh term, I am more than willing to argue. Despite her frail appearance and gentle expression, I know what truly lied behind the facet of wrinkles. Stubborn and headstrong like that of a wild boar, with a tongue so sharp, one could nearly be sliced in two if Katherine believed you to be worth her time in the very least, let alone bothered to utter a word to you at all. As a boy, I had the misfortune of continuously…

The morning went so fast, I was slightly nervous about seeing Josie again since it had been three months since our last encounter. I put on a t-shirt and shorts on then stood in front of the mirror as I splashed my face with water. I looked at the clock and saw it was 11:50 so I grabbed my helmet and jacket as I pushed my motorcycle out the garage. It wasn’t until I got to the street before Subway that I realised my phone had fallen out of my pocket and I had left my wallet at home. I knew then I was going to be late and Josie was going to…

"Lena, I know it's probably hard, having to answer all these questions. I apologize, my boss wanted the first live interview from Lena Anderson, the girl that survived," Lehane spoke calmly, sitting in the chair with a notebook in hand, she wasn't a reporter, she was an assistant for some C.E.O of some large firm that inquired strange things. Why her boss wanted this interview was a mystery to her, but she did it. Mostly, because she needed her job, it was the only thing keeping her afloat after moving back to Seattle, Washington from Boston. "Don't worry about it, this is something that I have to do," Lena spoke setting down two glasses of water one for each of them. "Alright, thank you for at least taking the time to do this, You said it still feels like that night was yesterday?" Lehane spoke softly pressing record on her phone. Watching Lena take a deep breath in and out quickly she nodded her head letting the words fly out of her mouth, "It does, yes, sometimes it still feels like I am that little girl hiding in her closet, that little girl that's telling her father that she's scared.." Lena paused for a mere moment before she continued with what she was going to say. "That little girl who watched a man with black…

She yelled my dad’s name. My dad slid in. I stare at him wondering why they were freaking out so much. My dad told my mom to calm down or she would make me get freaked out. They showed me to the bathroom. Gustavo came in with his blanky. He was quietly peering at my chin ever so curiously .Then said “Here Mayra.” handing me his blanket. I held the small beige colored thing for a while then handed it back. I told him I don’t want to get it bloody. He nods. I looked at my chin in the mirror. My chin was bloody and all gashed. It looked like it should have hurt but it didn’t, not one bit or I would be crying.…
