Creative Writing: Is Teddy Dead?-Personal Narrative
No Hesitation This was the absolute worst monday morning of my entire life. I am stuck in a dingy, dark police interrogation room waiting for the detective . All I could do was stare at the mirror of the claustrophobia-inducing room. The door creaks open, and in walks in the detective.
“Good morning Juniper, I’m Detective Miller.” the detective said boldly.
“ It’s June, no one calls me Juniper.” I say softly.
He said nothing. I was wondering if this was some kind of intimidation technique they teach in the police academy. It was working. So then I asked the question that has been silently killing me for hours, “Is Teddy dead?”
“I need you to tell me everything that happened between Friday 11:00pm to Monday 7:00am, start at the beginning.”

Teddy then swiped the key card he stole from Coach Scott’s office during P.E. We entered the building without any unsuspected obstacles. Then headed toward Ms.Shepard’s classroom and we covered her whole desk with sticky notes we brought in a duffel bag. As we went back the the front doors of the school to make our quick escape but the doors wouldn’t open We went around the whole building checking if any of the doors would open. None of them did. By then I was one locked door away from having a anxiety attack. We couldn’t leave the building, we tried everything from breaking windows with chairs, to crawling through the ventilation system. I tried to call someone but the landlines wouldn’t work and none of us brought our phones. At that moment it dawned upon me, I remember a teacher saying that the electricity at 12:30pm. Then we heard gunshot. We went to the origin of the noise. It was in the main office. Teddy and I headed inside and there was the dead body of our principal. I hardly registered what I saw before Teddy pulled me out of the room, and toward the gym. After a while Teddy told me what Principal Thomas’s death meant. He was just shot meaning whoever killed him was trapped in the building with us until Monday

So many times I felt that I could win the battle, yet just as many times I could feel the rope slipping through my fingers.…

He was already mentally making a list of all the things he had to do and it was giving him a headache just thinking about it.
