Creative Writing: Going Beyond The Border
“Hey wait up!” Jared yelled to his sister Gen. “We aren't supposed to be in this part of the woods” Jared said. “Ya, I know but have you ever wondered why we can't go beyond the border?” Gen asked. Jared thought about it and realized that he had never really wondered why it was forbidden to go beyond the border. Was there something that they weren't being told? (Rustle in the bushes) “Gen I think there is something out here”. “Pfff yeah right you just scared”. “No seriously, we should go” Jared says to Gen. (bush rustles again big monster jumps out) Run Jared says to Gen. *wakes up from dream*
“Jared. Jared,” His mom says to him. I think you were having a nightmare.”
“Ya I was” Jared tells her. Mom, what is in the forbidden woods? Oh it's

“It's time to wake up, you have your first day of camp today.”
“Mom, but it's a Saturday. Why can't we sleep in?” Jared asked.
“I already told you have camp.” His mom says. “OK, you guys know the rules. Don't go outside the border, stay out of trouble, and most of all don't let the Recters find a way to say you did something bad.”
“Who are the Recters?” Gen asks.
Well, I guess it's time you knew.” Her mom says. “The Recters are a group that works for the government to make sure everyone is safe, but if they find any reason to get you in trouble, they will.”
“What are the Recters supposed to keep everyone safe from?” Gen asks.
“No one really knows they won't tell anyone but there are many theories about what they protect us from Jared says. But besides that you two need to go now or you will be late.” Their mom says.

Gen let's get those two beds. We walk over and put our stuff on the beds. Next to us is another Girl who looks about my age. Strange man (yells through mega phone): All campers please report to the Dining hall for breakfast. Race you there I say to Gen. You're on she says. Gen has always been very fast for her age but I am still a little bit faster. Then, I realize I don't even know where I am going. Gen I say I think we went the wrong way. There are a few Agents huddled around each other talking we go to ask them where the dining hall is. While we are walking i suddenly sense this may not be the best idea. I can barely hear the agents talking but I do make out a few words. Agent: Something is in the woods the camp may not be safe. I stop right where I am frozen in fear. Gen turns to me and says “are you okay Jared?” The agents must have heard us and they stop talking and look at us. They look very mean and strong. I walk up to them and say “we were just wondering where the dining hall is you wouldn't happen to know would you?” The agents must think that we have heard something because they are very quiet and study us slowly the gen suddenly says “So, do you know or not?” The agents turn their attention to her and say yes it's down that path and then take a right. I say thank you still suspicious that they think we know something which we do. As soon as we are out of the agent's eyes view we turn to each other

Driving down the road, Caleb decided to test the brakes and acceleration of the van. While he slammed his foot between the brakes and the gas pedal, we were jolted throughout the van. Caleb laughed as we were thrown around unexpectedly. Soon we were just on our way to Lynden filled with anticipation. The energy in the van was high. The adventure and thrill had us excited and apprehensive. We talked and joked most of the way. Nearing Lynden, we began to calm down but we had a nervous anxiety that stirred in us. Arriving at the Goatman’s house, at 666 Badger Road, the uneasiness in the van could be felt. We were…

The addition to the story of Montana 1948 is written due to my dissatisfaction towards the plot line and the lack of detail (from David’s perspective). The addition to the story will introduce a new character named Adsila Hot Summer, she is a victim of Frank Hayden’s controversy. She will come forward and tell Wes when he was investigating his activities.…

“Ugh!”, he grunts from how large the suitcase is. “Will you be able to carry that, Scottie?” she says, her face, worn from time, twists with concern for her son. “Of course”, he laughs. “Okay, if you’re sure.” She says as she opens the metal gate to the front yard. They slowly walk through the cracked pathway until they reach the steps to the porch. Beatrice opens the sturdy door with her keys. “Honey, I’m home!” Scottie yells into the empty living room. “Must you do that every time you come inside the house?” She says fondly. “Of course, I must.” He says as if she should already have known the answer. While they were talking, Alice and Jake, Scottie’s younger siblings, heard his announcement and excitedly ran out of their room and down the beige stairs. “Stop making all that racket!” she admonishes her children. “SCOTTIE!” they yell out enthusiastically. “You’re home!” Alice states, full of wonder that her big older brother is finally back where he belongs. “Well, it’s obvious that I’m home unless I’m an imposer who’s secretly an alien”, He jokes, winking at Alice. “I definitely didn’t miss your humor,” Jake lightheartedly says. “Oh, come on, I tell the best jokes”, Scottie says smiling. “Yeah right, in your dreams”, Jake jokingly teases. “Leave your brother alone for right now. He had a long trip and he’s probably exhausted.” Beatrice gently tells to her…

How could he just treat us all like we were cattle as if it was nothing? The speedometer crept up to 60 miles per hour. Didn’t he care that people everywhere were starving? How could he do this? When he was elected he promised that he would Make America Great Again. 70 miles per hour. I had to get to the rally. We needed change, we could be that change. 80 miles per hour. My thoughts were interrupted as my eyes caught the reflecting glow of red and blue lights paint the night sky behind me. Crap. I pulled over and turned off the car, ready to feed the officer behind me a great line about how my grandmother was on her death bed and wanted me and only me to be at her side. My eyes shifted and glanced to the side mirror, the officer straightened out his already tucked in uniform and smoothed his hands over his hair as he made his way from his cruiser. Great, I thought. I wonder how many reprimands this stiff is gonna write me up for. My record already had 14 points on it for picketing, 6 more and I’d be in real trouble. He knocked on the window…

I felt expelled and exiled, sitting in a room filled only with a bed. White walls which painted no imagination, no hope just emptiness; yet they still assured me I was meant to be here. Every day was the same as the last, every memory I captured had slowly escaped. I was considered dangerous, vile and out of control; these words constantly surrounded me, swirling around in the echoes of the halls. 15 years I have been here, and still not once has my voice box being strained. Everyday new comers are filling the halls with recent experiences, these are the only colour these halls ever hold, the only colour we are ever able to grasp and use to paint our own ideas of community; they enable us oldies to once again imagine. Soon enough the halls go back to plain white and emotionless passages and so to do my imaginations, the images that i had held slowly fade over and over again until i am left with nothing. This only reminded me of what was familiar.…
