Mrs. Shannon is very caring to Melody and the rest of the class. “I believe in the smell of fresh pine trees at holiday time, and real candy canes, and popcorn garland. Tomorrow I’m bringing in a real tree and we’re going to make it beautiful.” She is the one teacher that made the room H-5 do the inclusion classes. After she took attendance, she addressed that she had taken some privileges away from the students because the students did not picked up their mess after having centers and would not follow instructions that the teacher gave. She explained that centers might return for the upcoming school year if they behaved properly. After she addressed the issues of the students, she instructed everyone to go back to their desks and waited till they put their thumbs which meant that they were ready for the lesson of the day. Mrs.Metcalfe went up to the front of the class to use the projector and expected her students to follow what she was doing on their worksheets.…

A Christmas Carol Assessment: Writing Assessment Everybody knows the classic Christmas story, “A Christmas Carol”, and are most likely familiar with The Three Ghosts of Christmas. The version I was assigned to read was a shorter version of the original and did not include all the same events. But of course, it included the ghosts. They tried to help Ebenezer Scrooge, a cold-hearted, wretched, old man to find the light before it was too late.…

The short story by Etgar Keret is about the metaphorical aspect of creative writing using two characters; Aviad and Maya, husband and wife who have recently gone through the tragedy of a miscarriage. The story begins with Maya, who has been encouraged to attend creative writting workshops in hopes of getting out more and moving on rather than sitting at home dwelling on the lost child. Aviad at first seems quite pleased that Maya has been doing well in her workshops, however he is critical about how she ends her stories and often wonders if she is in fact writing about him metaphorically. I almost got a sense that in every story she wrote it was there was a subconscious meaning behind it, the story about splitting in half, the story about the woman who falls out of love with her husband, and the story about the cat who’s paternity was in question. Maya even admitted writing the story of the cat before she got pregnant. It would appear that Aviad had an uneasy feeling about Maya's writing instructor hence showing up to the workshop a half hour early. Without Maya's knowledge, Aviad signs up for a creative writing workshop where he writes a short about a fish who is turned into a human by a witch. The fish eventually becomes successful as a human and when the witch decides to turn him back out of pity, she finds that the fish has found his place and leaves him be. The story ends with no definitive ending; however there may be a correlation to the fish story and the fact that since Maya has started writing she has changed as a person.…

The wind howled through the woods. The trees violently swayed, threatening to topple with ever shudder. The rain tore through the night, drenching everything in it's path. The dark grey sky crackled with energy, illuminating the whole forest for a fraction of a second. An almighty BOOM sounded throughout the forest, and all surrounding areas. A single spear of lightening darted down to the forest floor gone before a second glance. The sky rumbled; a dark ominous sound.…

The car raced along a black highway, the leaving town sign was the only thing to read, the faintly lit sign quickly faded behind the car as we drove. I was in no rush, but I knew she was stuck in a form of limbo, waiting. The only thing to light our dark midnight drive was the passing of the street lamps illuminating the dark road ahead. The radio was on but no one was listening, I looked out the windshield and would feel the street lights on me for a brief moment before they disappeared only to come back for a second it seemed like the faint heartbeat of the city left behind. The car reached a painfully long stretch of road which seemed to go on for miles, only to curve down bending to the Earth. The car raced along faster, as the long stretch…
