Creative Story showing the theme of "outsider". Presents views on a school boy isolated from all other boys in the school.
It was the first day back at school for a new year. Many of us still longed to be on holiday, carefree and careless. It showed on our faces as we grumpily and wearily made our way along the corridors to our House Room. This year our form (11) had a new student. When we walked in we all just looked at him, scrutinizing, mentally noting anything unusual. There was something about him though, but I couldn't quite see it. Nobody interacted with him at first - the teachers were all around him, then he was set free, for us students to talk with him, I didn't talk to him myself, rather I just listened to the questions of others, which, he answered them faintly. They ask him questions to get him talking, to get him relaxed, but he simply answered the questions and nothing more. Soon the interest wore off and he was left all alone.

Sitting in our usual spots in class, the new kid separated himself from us, sitting alone at the back. We thought he was shy so we left him, expecting he would loosen up at recess. The bell rang and we all went back to our lockers, laughing and mucking around. It was half way through recess before we saw the new kid again. He was sitting by himself looking out onto the oval, we invited him over to join in, but he simply said no thanks and walked away. Now we were mystified.

I didn't have any lessons with him for the rest of the day. That night on msn he came up in the topic of conversation. All my friends online thought he was weird. I told them he was probably just nervous and hed be alright tomorrow.

But he wasn't.

In the morning before we went to classes we saw him again sitting down near the oval and gazing out at it, I walked over to him and said "Hey what's up your new here right"

And he replied saying "Yeh"

"How're you finding it all?"

"Good"

"What do ya reckon about the school? Better then your old one?"

"It's ok"

"Why don't you join us in the cafeteria, we usually hang out there"

"No,thankyou, I'm OK"

He suddenly stood up

He is taken to his homeroom class, and the science laboratory. August isn`t excited to go to school in a very crowded, public area because of his deformed face. He is worried that people will treat him differently. For instance, whenever August is walking down the street, people would stare at him, and treat him much differently than they would treat someone with no disorders. This made August feel very self conscious. Julian is making this new experience much more difficult for August. Julian is not treating August with respect, because he thinks that just because August has a deformed face he has no feelings. He asks August questions that make him feel very unwelcomed, and uncomfortable. August experiences Julian`s very sceptical…

I grabbed my backpack and wearily headed to my same school, to my same locker, next to the same people. Sadly unlike Carnitas, this gets old. But this day, immediately changed. After three back to back classes on a Monday morning, I walked into the cafeteria as usual to get some lunch. I was fully exhausted and felt pressured with the load of assignments piled up on me. A familiar face from a distant table was waving at me vigorously. I could tell from the evident smile, the familiar face was none other than Wesley Rains. I remember the same prominent smile on his face when he entered the first day of class. Neither had the smile faded, nor his enthusiasm. I waved back at him and went towards the table trying to imitate the enthusiasm he had on his face just to appear as receptive as him. “I am doing awesome,” This was my exact response when he asked me how I was doing. I knew inside it was not a lie. His smile and positive attitude had infected me already.…

I walk into the dull atmosphere classroom, pictures of present and past high school baseball players stare back at me. The marker board covered in scribbles of math and assignments that will soon be issued to us by the teacher. One look at the teacher and you can tell he wasn’t in the best of health. Starting with his overweight physic to his white, pasty skin, almost a bit discolored in some areas. It was soon discovered early in the year that he suffered from a heart deficiency. Yet, having constant road blocks enter his path, he continues to teach and peruse his passion. I rather much enjoyed that class, and there was one month left till until school was out. Students start to file into class; among them is a familiar but unacquainted face, Dan. Dan and I knew each other but neither of us had taken the time to traditionally acquaint ourselves and really talk. Dan had short golden blonde hair, pale white skin, which was making his acne more visible. He was tall and lanky with a friendly smile and attitude. That day he finally introduces himself and we begin to talk. My first impressions were that he was sweet yet a bit odd, referring to many people and myself as ‘love’. As well came off as ambitious and carefree, after having snuck out of class multiple times and just leaving for the day. As summer dawned closer and sophomore year was coming to an end, me and Dans friendship grew and we exchanged numbers. Summer began, weeks pass and we talk from time to time. Till one day while texting I ask if he had any big plans for the rest of summer. The reply I got was not what I expected. He told me that he was due to have brain surgery in a month or so. And as well, that that wasn’t the worst part, not only is his condition fatal if he doesn’t receive proper treatment, but that if the operation is successful that a side effect is that he will lose all memory of the last 4years of his life. At this point in the conversation my mind was racing trying…

Every individual wants to feel like they have a purpose somewhere in life. in the poem “ June 23rd 1973” by Bruce Hunter two boys chase every teenage boys dream to fit in with the popular crowd and be accepted by all of them. This student was there both times I visited. The boys name is Kenneth. Kenneth did not come to the program with a fancy school uniform like john, he wore regular clothes and had a few stains on his shirt. He was not as high energy as john yet still had a social circle of students he hung out with. Kenneth is also 5 years old but seemed kind of withdrawn from the environment. When I visited the first time Kenneth was the first student I paid attention to because he seemed kind of odd out of the group. Coming to find out Kenneth has and older sister that attends the Y also and is 3 years older than him. He is in a different class than his sister In not sure why. His sister is pretty active and runs and plays with things around the center but is very much involved in group activities she has 2 friends of which she spends the most time with. When presented with a new activity it takes Kenneth a few moments for his brain to kick into gear and move on to the next task he kind of sits and stares at the other children and then he goes about joining the group. Snack time he sits with kids of his age group and doesn’t speak to often. During physical activity of music time Kenneth joins the choreography but he isn’t overjoyed or making rambunctious movements that disrupt anyone else he tended to stay to the side of the room and tries to create as title attention as…

I have met my assigned group, which consisted of five members: Leo, Jennifer, Jaimyra, Jake, and Patrick, on Sunday at noon in Highland Coffee. I believe that the place had really helped us getting over with awkwardness. Even though I had a lot of concerns about the group and meeting new people but it turned to be the best thing ever. At first, I was afraid of talking to anyone in the group, but then when I was the first one there, I was a little bit relieved because I had a bad impression of one member of the group, which was Leo, that made me a little bit stressed of meeting the others. As all group members came and especially that member I got nervous. As one of the members began talking and asking questions, I thought…
