1.0 SCIENTIFIC NAME OF MANGO
The scientific name of mango is Magnifera indica. Magnifera indica is a species of mango in the Anacardiaceae family. Magnifera indica is the common mango or Indian mango where is the only mango tree that commonly cultivated in many tropical and subtropical regions. 2.0 ORIGIN OF MANGO

Mango originated in northeast India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Mango is native to South Asia where it has been distributed worldwide to become one of the most cultivated fruits in the tropics. It is being cultivated in southern Asia for nearly six thousand years. The most of the cultivated varieties have arisen from four main species, they are Magnifera indica, Magnifera sylvatica, Magnifera odorata, and Magnifera zeylanica. Mango is the national fruit of India and was found in the wild in India.
Mango tree is the largest fruit tree in the world, and capable to reach or grow up one hundred feet of height and an average circumference of twelve to fourteen feet, sometimes reaching twenty. The leaves are simple and evergreen when the leaves are young they are orange-pink and rapidly change to a dark, glossy red then dark green when they are mature.
In English word “mango” or “mangoes” (plural) originated from the Tamil word “mankay” or “Malayalam” from the Dravidian root word for the same through Portuguese. The first word recorded confirmation in a European language was text by Ludovica di Varthema in Italy in 1510 as manga. The
