Creating A High-Performing Team
To the managers who are struggling constantly about creating a high-performing team, there are steps that one must cover in order to limit the amount of conflict that is caused and build a path for success that the team can drive easily upon. There are characteristics and elements that some of the managers have used to build a successful team, which is what can be used to build a solid foundation which all managers can follow to create the basis for a high-performing team. Initially, managers must have foresight, and be able to determine the primary goal that the team must accomplish. Typically, there is a time frame which the team must complete the goal by this deadline, which is something that managers need to consider when approaching the …show more content…
Communication is an essential focal point in the center of a high-performing team. A well-oiled team can communicate either very little or in vast amounts and be extremely effective as they are versatile in the communication category because of the cohesion that exists between them. However, on the other side of a well-oiled team would be a team that struggles greatly with communication. Without communication, each part of the team does not know what the other parts are doing at the time, which when put into an example like a gear set. If all the parts of a gear set know what the others do, then they can work together to turn the crank, however if each gear tries to turn the crank on their own due to ego-centrism than the crank will never turn and the goal will never be completed. On the positive side of a high-performing team are characteristics that all managers should seek out and implement them into their own teams to become streamlined and successful. Some of these characteristics include cohesion, reliable, organized, and cooperative. All of these are essential to become an optimized high-performing team that completes each goal easily by the deadline. Adding in employees who are motivated to complete the job and are willing to work in a team allows for an easier time on the manager and leader due to the natural synergy between the …show more content…
There are many steps in creating the team, determining roles, and brainstorming, which issues can occur but those can be avoided if the manager and leader comes prepared and ready for the task of starting up a high-performing team. Creation of the high-performing team is the main task that managers face, and if they can do this step with the preparation that they should have made and the forethought than the rest of the steps towards the goal should be downhill in an easy slide towards the finish
