Crafting A Life Mission Statement Analysis
11.2 Crafting a Life Mission Statement
Mission is your assignment here on Earth. It is the set of activities that you are assigned to do in your life for others. In other instances it is referred to as your main task in life. This is linked to what Jesus referred to in Matthew 16 verse 24 [1] when He said “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me”. The cross is the burden you carry in life and you are the person assigned by God to deal with that burden. Your mission also defines the set of challenges you are presented with in life. You are then called by God to deal with these challenges.
Your mission gives meaning to your life and links to your very reason for existence.

How I achieve this is by the following methods:
• Conducting life coaching seminars
• Authoring of motivational books
• Providing management consulting services

I do this for both personal life and business life, remembering that business is an entity that has its own life from conception, birth, growth, stability, decline and eventually death.

In summary, mission is the answer to the following question: When I start the day everyday what is it that I am going out there to do for people? How do I do it? How well do I do it? And to which group of people do I do it?

Below are examples. The table below is a carryover from the one in section 10, only that the description of life mission has been added to each of the examples.

Our destiny is to live forever with God in heaven, and that we all have a real purpose in life. As humans, we are not all-knowing, so we need help to find our true purpose in life. There is no real purpose for my life is a heresy that Kreeft works against. We exist because of God, and we are real because God is real that gives each of us an intrinsic dignity. A portion of our existence is to love God and our neighbors. Our meaning of life is to be Saint, and perform good works on earth for the Kingdom of God. We must know God and ourselves to first know why we exist. Everyone has a special gift that they are meant to use in life. We must recognize this gift, and use it correctly. I believe this is true since God gave us free will, and that we were created in God’s own image, but we are all different. We must know God and ourselves to know what we are meant to do. What we are good at, has something to do with why we…

James 1:5 tells us, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. It is God’s will that we have a purposeful life that is ordained by Him. It is His desire that our lives are in line with His will for us. Christopher Wright (2010) in his book the “The Mission of God’s People” tells us he reveals God’s purpose and goal for his whole creation. He stated that “Paul called it the “whole will plan of God” Acts 20-27; Ephesians 1:9-10.” “Part of that divine mission, God has called into existence is a people who will participate with God in the accomplishment of that mission.” “All of our mission comes from the prior mission of God and it is broad in scope. Mission arises from the heart of God himself, and is communicated from his heart to ours. It is the global outreach of the global people of a global God” (pg.…
