Re: Summer Engineering Student – Field

Dear Ms. Jones:
I found the job listing of Field position for summer engineering students on Placepro. The first paragraph introduces the purpose of your communication. You need to tell the employer specifically which position you are applying for as they may have numerous jobs posted, if you are given a job code number ensure that you use it. Include details of where you saw the position posted – if it was in PlacePro, say “the Engineering Employment Centre" or “the University of Alberta” instead as PlacePro is an internal job posting system and has no meaning to employers. If you were told to send in your resume by someone who already works at the company, be sure to mention their name in this paragraph. You could highlight at this stage why you are applying for this particular job with that particular company.
Your second paragraph is your "marketing pitch." This is where you enthusiastically sell your skills and yourself to the employer showing them that you are a strong candidate and encourage them to interview you for the position. Be sure to mention that you are an engineering student, and what you have been studying and/or are interested in once you complete your degree. Make this paragraph as relevant as possible to the job that you are applying for and do not forget to include those all important key words and phrases from the job description. You can include any relevant achievements and successes, training and hands-on experience which make you stand out from the crowd. You want to show why you are interested in the company / job / location, and why you are the best fit for the role. Make sure you concentrate on why you are good for the company and how your strengths can help them achieve their corporate goals rather than why the job and

I understand that you are actively seeking to hire a Mechanical Engineer at your Lake Geveva location. This position is responsible to perform the functions of design, development and testing of a broad range of new projects and modify and improve existing products. When I was a child i lost someone dear to me in an automobile accident. Through that experience, I saw that cars need to be as safe as they can be. With a lifelong passion for cars, I knew I wanted to work on automobiles. After seeing the monotony of working in a repair garage, I knew i wanted to help build or design cars. While researching your company and finding all that your company does for safety and engineering to make a safer end product for the consumer, this really inspired me. I value your mission and visions to innovate for safety and reliability. The automotive design and engineering industry has always been a dream of mine to pursue, however, I had to decide which area since there are so many different careers. After much researching I decided to pursue a Mechanical Engineering degree, which led me to taking classes at Penn Foster University. Upon completion, I have gained the knowledge and proficiency in Mechanical Engineering and the manufacturing process. As a Mechanical Engineer within your company, I am confident that I could make a valuable contribution to the research and design team.…

We spent a while on researching the proper way to apply to a job; including how to fill out an application, how to do a cover letter and different interview skills. I come to find out that it is very important to know how to fill out an application the right way and know how to write up a resume because those two things can make or break your chances in getting the job. When writing your resume you want to use ¨power words¨ in order to make yourself sound more appealing. Also your formatting of the resume has a bigger impact on the job than you might think. You want to make sure your resume is only one page, filled completely but not too cluttered and is always truthful to what you are capable of doing. When filling out the application the most important thing to think about is to be honest. You do not want to imply that you can do something that you can not do. Next, to create a successful cover letter you want to make sure that your formatting is correct. Also you want to make it appoint that you are interested in the job and go into a little bit of detail on why you think you would be perfect for the job. Lastly, at the end of your cover letter you always want to ask for a interview and that you look forward to hearing from them. Once you do get the interview you want to prepare for it. You want to look presentable, like you actually want the job. Also you can simply look up…

All music produced in preliterate cultures (prehistory) are commonly known as Prehistoric or Primitive music. Music occurred prior to recorded history, therefore the source is unknown. Some people believe that music derived from organic rhythms and sounds. Human music may echo these phenomena using patterns, repetition and tonality. In some cultures music is intended to mimic natural sounds, some of these reasons may relate religious practices and beliefs. It may also be used as a form of entertainment or more practical functions such as luring animal in while hunting.…
