It is very important to keep in mind that children develop at different stages. A first grader is at the preoperational thought period and at this stage the child is experiencing the growth of language and imagery. In this stage the child’s thinking is unsystematic and illogical making it hard for them to understand things like 5th or even more a 10th grader would do. A 5th grader is at the concrete operational stage and here they develop their conservation skills unlike the children from the preoperational stage. This is important to consider when teaching science because a 5th grader will now understand skills involving volume and conservation, unlike a 1st grader. A 10th grader is now in the last stage of development which is the formal-operation…

People have judged and misunderstood others for as long as humans were on this Earth. People have a nasty habit to think of people who have been lonely and bullied as outsiders, although outsiders are just people who are completely misunderstood and judged the wrong way. If people took the time to know these “outsiders” people mistreat, they would understand that these people are just normal kids that got mistreated badly. Nobody wants to be an “outsider”, but sometimes you become one for various of different reasons like being a new kid, being smarter than most kids, wanting to be alone, and more.…

Out of proportional, regressive, progressive, lump-sum tax systems; to me, I feel like the proportional tax system is the best type. I am sure a lot of people would argue and say that it is not the best. They probably think that they are right in their mind, and that is okay. Proportional tax, is “a tax for which high-income and low-income taxpayers pay the same fraction of income.” The reason why I think proportional tax is the best, because fair is fair. The current tax system that the United States of American uses is progressive. Progressive tax is “a tax for which high-income taxpayers pay a larger fraction of their income than do low-income taxpayers” (Mankiw). The high in-come taxpayers pay more in total taxes and they pay a higher rate of taxes.…

Going back to my best year! Sophomore year was the year I had to get myself together and stop acting so amateur, it was the year I start acting like an adult. Therefore It was a great year for me. My sophomore year was not like other teenagers, I had many downfalls, but that didn't stop me from accomplishing my goals. Around this time I wanted to try a sport for the first time, so I tried out for the wrestling team, but they didn't work out so well. I believe in respect. I believe that everyone should be treated fairly. I had a friend, well, I like to think I had a friend, who had the ability to make everything negative. She had the ability to make even the happiest person depressed. She was also very opinionated and and took down anyone and anything in her path. I have to give her credit, her opinion was always heard. But, that doesn't mean her opinion was always right. I would always try to tell her that something was wrong, or that she made someone feel bad, but she would never listen. She would just tell me that I was wrong and not her.…

Throughout high school, I’ve always heard that senior year would be the easiest, most fun year- the year when you could just lay back and enjoy yourself. Unfortunately, and though I know it is mostly by my own doing, I have not found it to be my easiest year at all. College, senior project, all on top of four AP classes have made senior year my most stressful yet. Though at this point I think the worst is over, it certainly has been one crazy autumn.…

It may be early, but prom seems to be on most high school students’ minds. Besides the promposals floating around, dresses are also capturing the attention of the girls. There’s one problem with the newer, most popular designs around the country. Some of them, maybe most of them, may not meet Groom’s conservative, vague standards about what is appropriate and what is not. Principal Stephen Vanderpool said it this way: “classy not trashy.” So, again who and how does administration define classy?…

According to Americans throughout US history, there are two groups of poor people, the deserving poor and the undeserving poor. Although both groups are poor, they are poor for very different reasons. On the one hand, the undeserving poor are poor because of the consequences of bad decisions or life choices. On the other hand, the deserving poor are poor not because of bad decisions but because it is not in their control. Although I do believe all poor people should be eligible to receive welfare or government assistance, anyone receiving welfare or government assistance should be required to seek employment, if they are able to work.…

Successful businesses around the world are recognizing the importance of diversity and equality in the work place. “A diverse workforce combines workers from different backgrounds and experiences that together breed a more creative, innovative, and productive workforce.
