Course Reflection Essay

This is a course reflection giving me the opportunity to look back on what this course has offered me as new learning, writing, and communicating skills. In addition, to building on the knowledge I already hold and different ways to utilize it.

First and foremost, being reminded of the importance of avoiding plagiarism and using your own work is an imperative issue to always be aware of. It can be so easy in this current age of technology to be tempted to go online and find what you need to complete an assignment or presentation. However, the only true way to learn and preserve integrity and honesty is to always present your own ideas, and give credit to the writings or ideas of others you may use in your work.

There is more to technical writing than I first realized. Learning the many facets of ‘technically writing’ will help me to present information and ideas in a more objective way to the correct audience. While completing the assignment for instructions and technical description, the concept of objectivity was made clear. As a nurse, being able to present instruction or information objectively to the appropriate audience can be the difference between a patient’s thriving health or detriment.
