ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
I would like to thank my group members for their cooperation and team work so to achieve our goal. This was to teach our youngsters to have a better future. Great thanks to Botho University for giving us the opportunity to give back to the community and special thanks to my lecture Mr Dimpho Ramagonono for helping us achieve it and Tlhabologo Primary School authority to have given us (group) a chance with the students.

ABSTRACT
The whole project was to teach skills to a young group of people with the aim to impart them with aids on how to survive into this world as one grows up. We gave them the encouragement they need to succeed and be better people of the future. We taught standard 7 students of Tlhabologo School about life skills, by having one on one session with them and trying to look for what they lack. We taught them the importance of education and its benefits.

INTRODUCTION (BACKGROUND)
The whole idea is to give back to the community. To people who cannot achieve or have the resources to live a better life. We chose to teach standard 7’s as they are from a young age and because they are passing into another level which is adolescence. At this stage one experiments, has confusion with what he or she wants. The project is to teach these students about life skills such as the dangers of alcohol and drug abuse, money management, how to be confident, sexual transmitted diseases, career choices and other problems they could encounter as they grow up. We chose this project as we as individuals in a group have experienced some if not all as we grew up, made good and bad choices and learned from them. We were also young and have good interpersonal skills which made it easier to talk and teach them. Tlhabologo Primary School is situated in G-west. The location of the school made us choose it because it is a place where a lot happens. The location is perceived as a corrupt township with prostitution, a lot of theft cases, alcohol depots and other immoral effects occur. The children living in that place are surrounded by all this and they grow up seeing, and experiencing some of this indirectly. Our project is to instil the skills we have so they could survive into this world. We recognised the importance to impart these skills as they shape their futures to the better. The fact that we were young and easy to talk to made us achieve our goal. Talking and teaching these students what we know, seen and experienced will make a difference in their lives as we showed them a way through to all the depraved and when they imply what we taught them, this will help them survive. We as a group used two techniques to achieve this project:

Qualitative technique: it had to be a government school
It had to be a low income Easily accessible
Quantitative technique: the students we were going to teach had to be standard 7’s STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
With the increasing number of school dropouts, unemployed youth and low results on examination passes, we as a group realised for this problems to decrease we have to start from root level and impart skills to the young first. We identified that in G-West this problems are at a higher rate thereby choosing Tlhabologo Primary School standard 7’s...
