Contradiction In Projekt 1065 By Alan Gratz
In the book Projekt 1065 by Alan Gratz, a big contrast & contradiction moment is when the main character Michael tries to save a british pilot from being tortured by Nazis. Michael’s parents are spies for the Irish so him risking his cover is very bad. At this time the Irish are neutral but if the Nazis found out about the spy work, they could go to war. His parents even tell him to not try to do anything suspicious yet he follows through with his plan. If Michael were caught trying to save him, him and his family could be executed. Normally Michael is very secretive and likes to stay low and try not to be noticed or stand out, so this is odd for his character. One reason I think Michael decided to help instead of let the pilot die is because

Ordinary courage is a book that tells the story of an ordinary man who is inlisted in the continental army in the revolutionary war. Joseph Plumb Martin is the young man fighting in this war, at the time he entered he was just a mere 16 year old kid but by the time his time in the continental army was up he became a man. This is a first person memoir of what it was like for a regular person living in a war zone, and dealing with the everyday fears of food shortage, low morale, and danger of attack. This is something that many people in todays world could not handle because even some of the old guys in the military now can handle it. How many sixteen year olds can you say have the maturity to handle this kind of pressure, this book did not glorify the war the way others usually do, the book showed the way the war really was it was brutal and ugly. The revolutionary war was the birth of the nation the same way that Joseph Martin grew up it was really the birth of a man. He grew up alongside the United States. The author wants to show how it was for an average soldier to fight in that particular war, and he is successful in doing so. He wants to strip away any illusions that the reader might have of the nature of war. He writes that he does not want to paint himself as anything like a hero, for he does not see himself as a hero. He sees the war as a terrible experience with suffering and not heroism as the main feature, and the way the story was written you can tell that the war was not glorified. Martin believes in the princibles and ideals that the war was based on, but he was determined to show that the war that was supposed to bring those ideals to reality was actually a very dirty and bloody war.…

Michael was born into a bad situation to begin with; his mother was a crack addict. The neighborhood was known as a “broken windows” neighborhood, crime rate high and a lack of police presence. No one ever gave Michael a chance or believed in him until he met the Tuohy family, who changed his life. The plan that I have thought of for Michael is for him to continue living with the Tuohy family, but get in touch with his siblings. He needs to know his biological family. Sorting and organizing his life events in different factors, the majority of them are psychological factors, which should result with him seeing a counselor to relieve some of his life’s…

I think that the author forges sentences that put you in the room and make you feel the pain and the frustration of the characters. The author perfectly mixes the real world with the abnormal events that happen to Michael Vey. The author starts out with a mysterious call between two men talking about blowing up a commercial airliner, which automatically sucks the reader into the book. It then transitions to the story of this boy named Michael Vey and while it all might seem perfectly normal the author then throws a curveball and introduce the powers that this boy possesses.…

Human beings are morally ambiguous people. We are neither purely evil nor purely good, but often a mix. And maybe that’s why many of us are attracted to literature works with morally ambiguous characters such as The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. The Kite Runner was set in Kabul, Afghanistan, proceeds to United States during the Soviet Union invasion, and then the setting goes back to Kabul when the Taliban rises in power. In this novel, Amir, to whom the whole story of the book is centered around, is a morally ambiguous character. Amir is a Pashtun boy; he betrays his friendship with Hassan, a Hazara son of Amir’s father’s servant. Guilt haunts Amir for years even after he had left Kabul and moved to United States. Amir is a morally ambiguous character because he’s a coward, he’s selfish, he betrays his friend and lies, but he also finds courage to face what he had done wrong and finds salvation.…

The betrayal of the family bond is a common theme in 1984. Orwell illustrates how weak that loyalty has become with the skull-faced man's desperate begging to watch his wife and children's throats be slit as an alternative to the Ministry of Love's room 101 with a complete lack of "private loyalties"(136). Winston's memories of his mother's…
