Gene like is a work of art, if you mess with the original then it chances it morals. By Finny being with him, he chances into someone new. If Finny does something that Gene doesn't agree with the Gene becomes every snobby In this quote,”I saw that right away, why not? He had made it up hadn’t he?”, this explains it perfectly(40)He is every upset when Finny get praised because he is the best at his own game. Obviously, if someone else created the game Finny would be the best at it. By this Gene hate it because Finny get all the credit of winning the game but also the credit for creating the game. Gene know that if someone else tried to make Blitzball a game then no one would do. This only works because Finny is well-known within the school and he is popular.
