Confederate Flag Research Papers

The issue of the Confederate Flag has a long history. The fight in Michigan is over a different flag, the "Betsy Ross" flag. It was made in 1777. This was not long after the Declaration of Independence. The flag has 13 stars and 13 stripes. They stand for the 13 original colonies. These colonies became the United States. 240 years have passed by and the flag is now an issue to many people of color because, when the flag was made it was during the time of slavery and it was flown during the early days many people owned many slaves. In some parts of the world, such as North America there is a tremendous dispute over flowing the Confederate Flag in Columbia, South Carolina. The Confederate soldiers were U.S citizens who took up arms against our government. These were individuals who killed American soldiers. They sought to destroy the United States as it stood which meaning they didn't care if the United States were in good conditions or not. And they had thought violence was the right answer to solve it. We still may not know if there are still people he support the Confederate soldiers. Yet another good reason is that, The white supremacist who designed the Confederacy's Flag(s), William T. Thompson, gave the definitive reason why every Republican, KKK member, and so-called Southern heritage advocate still supports to fly the Confederate Flag and it’s a symbol of treason and racism. The flag was made by a group of racist who still exist, but rarely hear about them and showing this flag or using it inappropriately can cause many problems with many other people. The evidence clearly points that even though this flag wasn’t used appropriately it does not make our nation great about what we we're supposed to be and what other people around the world
