Recipe for Brazilian Dessert Brigadeiro
Brigadeiro

Brigadeiro is my favorite Brazilian dessert, and preparing it can be fun for the kids, furthermore, it has a interesting story too. O Brigadeiro was created in honor of Brigadier General named Eduardo Gomes, candidate for the presidency of the Republic, who apparently loved the mix of chocolate and caramel. Brigadeiro is made with cocoa, sweetened condensed milk and butter. First, you should pour all of the ingredients in a saucepan and then, cook for ten to twenty minutes on low heat, stirring all the time. When, the wonderful aroma of chocolate begins to exhale and the mixture becomes very thick, take it off from the stove and let it cool. While you wait for the mix to cool, you can call the children to help you in the second step of the recipe. The second step is to take a bit of the mixture and make a little ball using your buttered hands. If you want to decorate your Brigadeiro, roll it in the chocolate sprinkles, and then, serve it in a traditional little paper cup. It is so easy to make that even a child can! I have good memories, when I was a child, I helped my mother to prepare Brigadeiro to birthdays parties. Brigadeiro is a delicious, soft and creamy chocolate ball that melts in the mouth. When you eat one, it will be impossible to stop.
Ingredients:
1 can of sweetened condensed milk; 1 tablespoon unsalted butter; 5 -10 tablespoons of cocoa powder (to taste)
Instructions:
Pour all ingredients in a saucepan and mix together with a spoon. On low heat, cook the mix about 10 to 20 minutes. When the mixture is thick and comes off from the bottom of the pan, remove the saucepan from the heat and let cool. With buttered hands, roll it into 1 or 2 inch balls. To decorate, roll the balls in the chocolate sprinkles and place in the paper cups.
