Computerized Enrollment System

Introduction

Nowadays, majority of establishments and institutions across the country are now using modern technologies for theme to be able to serve their clients fast and efficient. One of the most significant institutions is the educational sector. As reported by the World Bank, there had been an increase in literacy rate in the Philippines. With the increase in our country’s literacy rate has come a significant increase in student enrollment at the high school level. This has made it difficult for existing staff within the schools to manage the magnitude of daily administrative activities such as student enrollment. Manually managing the enrolment system is tedious, time consuming, and error prone. Schools in the Philippines are switching over from the conventional method of enrolment to the Information and communication technology-based automated enrollment for efficiency, accuracy, and reliability. A speedy and computerized enrolment system process is the way the school can find an easier and enhanced way to implement an enrolment system. The computerization of the said system will be implemented through making use of equipments like computers and printers. In line with this, it is better for a school to have a computerized enrollment system as a replacement for the traditional manual system to have an efficient and faster enrolment operation and to use as an advantage over their counter.

This study aims to come up with an enrolment system for Batac National High School – Poblacion Campus which over the years had been using a manual process of student enrolment. The researchers will develop a system that can minimize the processing time in order to access records of the students quickly so that enrollment process will be much faster than usual. Enrollees will be more comfortable for the system that researchers will develop because of fast and consistent processing of schools enrollment system. Researchers of the system will be aware of the existing problems that enrollees and the school are experiencing in the past few years to develop a system that will provide a solution to their needs for them to be comfortable of what the propose system will provide. Users or the facilitators of the propose enrollment system will also benefited for the reason that they will not do the usual way they do when they are processing the enrollment forms or records of the enrollees. Instead of doing the usual way of processing records of the enrollees they can now make use of a graphical user interface, all they have to do is to press the mouse and input data of an enrollee from the keyboard to manage the proposed enrollment system.
