Background of the Study
One of the greatest innovations in technology is the emergence of computer technology that contributes much to the global awareness in modern technology. This advancement of computers makes a real difference in every human life from the past decades especially with their works and daily activities. It became fast accurate and easier. Computers commonly used by companies, agencies, organizations and educational institutions and also at home and offices. The data storage is considered the heart of information center (Kendall and Kendall, 1999).
According to Rice (2006), computers enhancement proved to be more remarkable and even for a global communication to access immediate information system to information technology that is used by people to accomplish specified organizational individual object. The technology that may be used in gathering, processing, storing and dissemination of information and the users are trained in the use of that technology; as well as in the procedures to be followed in doing so.
Information System (IS) is any combination of information technology and peoples’ activities using the technology to support operations, management and decision making. In a very broad sense, the tern IS is frequently used to refer interaction between people, algorithmic process, data and technology. In this sense, the term is used to refer not only to the information and communication technology and organization users, but also to the way in which people interact with this technology and support the business processes (Kroenke, 2010).
The Record Keeping Management System of the Faculty and Staff of Eastern Samar State University Salcedo Campus is the area of the study. It is commonly observed that some school campuses are using the manual operation of record keeping system. The Eastern Samar State University Salcedo Campus is an institution offering different courses. There are Faculty and Staff manning different duties and functions, and are expected that their important records and profile are systematically managed.
Some of the departments/offices are keeping their records/data in a typical or manual process. For this reason, the researchers envision for the computerization of Faculty and Staff Profile Management System in this university, especially at the Human Resource Management Office. This study will provide the fastest way of storing and retrieving data of the entire faculty and staff.
Objectives of the Study
This study aims to develop a computerized Faculty and Staff Profile Management System at Eastern Samar State University Salcedo Campus, Salcedo, Eastern Samar.
Specifically, it has the following objectives:
To design a Computerize Faculty and Staff Profile Management System at Eastern Samar State University Salcedo Campus. 2.
To develop the designed Computerized Faculty and Staff Profile Management System at Eastern Samar State University Salcedo Campus. 3.
To test the developed Computerized Faculty and Staff Profile Management at Eastern Samar State University Salcedo Campus.
Significance of the Study
The findings of this study will be important and useful to the different office of the whole university likewise to the guests and visitors in various ways.
The Faculty Members. The findings of the study will help the faculty members to simply reduce time in going to different departments or offices just to request or ask information that they need to know. Through the use of computerization method it would be easier to manipulate and get the information immediately in just a matter of minutes. The Staff of Different Departments. The findings of the study will enable the non-teaching personnel in Eastern Samar State University Salcedo Campus lessen time in going to different departments or offices just to ask information that they wanted to confirm or to browse their data or profile.
