Comparison: Zodiac Sign Aries
My birthday is April 16th, which makes my zodiac sign Aries, The Ram. Aries is the first out of all twelve zodiac constellations and it ranges from March 21 to April 20. Aries is a fire sign that is affiliated with Mars and people born in this time slot are known to be adventurous, confident, enthusiastic, impatient, and impulsive.

The constellation Aries is meant to honor the Greek myth of the ram the produced the golden fleece which is commonly known for being sought after by Jason and the Argonauts. The ram was initially brought into Greek mythology when King Athamus of Boeotia took a second wife, Ino, who was jealous of his existing children with his former wife Nephele. Ino devised a plan to cause the crops to fail. King Athamas’s people then turned to an oracle for advice to stop the famine. Ino then bribed the oracle to say that they would need to sacrifice King Athamus’s former children, Helle and Phrixus, to the Gods. King Athamas reluctantly agreed with the oracle to save his

I enjoy looking at my horoscope just at much as the next person to try to see how my day or month will go, but the vagueness and randomness of this type of astrology leaves me skeptical. The descriptions of people and how they match up to their sign don’t always seem to hold value behind it (our in class experience for example) because everyone can be adventurous at times, or stubborn when they need to be. I believe that I do correlate with some traits of an Aries, because I do tend to be quite impatient and energetic, but I can’t say that I am much of a daredevil or very adventurous at all. Saying that depending on where planets were when you were born determines your personality seems to be a little bit of hocus pocus to me, but I must agree that looking up your horoscope for the day or trying to see if your matches up their sign is an engaging process that intrigues

I don’t feel that the position of celestial objects at the moment of our birth have an effect on our characters, .lives or destinies. Life is what you make it. We control our own destinies. If I do not like something it is my responsibility to change it. Many people believe that because you are born during a certain time of the year that you are programmed to act like the zodiac sign that falls under your birth month and birth date. You have a belief that the astrological signs have an important part of your life. I believe that astrological signs are life superstitions. Astrology readings are in the newspaper, on the internet, on menus at oriental restaurants. I wonder if astrology horoscopes were not all over the place how likely would it be that half of America would continue to believe.…

Leo has a very curious personality, he is often trying to find the truth and does not let a case go. There are many differences, I am not one to be curious and i often find myself leaving case unfinished and I usually don't end up causing a story till the end. Leo curiosity shines in the chapter where he follows Stargirl home, compared to me I stick to my own business, I usually don't involve myself in other people's business because in the sense of curiosity me and leo we are not similar in the sense of curiosity. We are also different in the department of how we see people. If i saw someone like Stargirl i would probably not want to be around them, I usually judge people how others see them I not one to invest further in their personality.…

While most people might take offense at being labeled as a loner, Aquarius don’t mind one bit. They prefer to be by themselves and their favorite moments of the day are the ones filled with silence. They are incredibly smart people and hard-working, so you will probably find that many Aquarius people are lawyers because they don’t mind working long hours and they also don’t mind making people mad. Even though they don’t like confrontation, they will go head-to-head with someone if it means that they’re sticking up for what they believe in. You will probably see this zodiac sign the least in social situations because an Aquarius would rather spend the night alone than go to a party where they have to make meaningless chit chat.…

Over the course of time, humans have created many studies that will eventually shape how we live, but one of those studies has had a lasting impact. Astrology is the study that largely changed the Elizabethan Era. "Astrology is the study of patterns and relationships -- of planets in motion, our birth chart, synastry with others, the make-up of elements -- and using that knowledge as a tool to find meaning" (Hall 1). Astrology is not science because it contains mostly beliefs that come from different religions, but it has a different category. Astrology was one of the most important studies at the time of the Elizabethan Era because it influenced many courses of events of humans and showed the fate of, it would make many people develop superstitions and new beliefs, and it affected the themes of famous stories, such as, The Most Excellent and Lamentable Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet.…

Of Mice and Men’s George and The Scarlet Letter’s Hester Prynne the main characters in these two novels. Both are misunderstood by the people around them. Of Mice and Men was written in 1937 by John Steinbeck to show the most vulnerable people in society at that time. The Scarlet Letter was written by Nathaniel Hawthorne in 1850 to illustrate the way of life for the Puritan society and the way some were punished or misunderstood due to not following the Puritan ways. In Of Mice and Men and The Scarlet Letter Steinbeck and Hawthorne share a common theme between the two novels. By comparing and contrasting the characters, setting, and conflicts it is illustrated that people are being out casted by society because they have committed crimes throughout the novels.…

I have chosen two statues from different eras to make a comparison, Marble statue of Dionysos leaning on an Archaistic Female Figure from the Roman era and Bronze statue of Artemis and a deer from Greek or Roman, late Hellenistic or early Imperial periods. The reason why I have chosen these two objects are that both of them have one big figure and one small figure which makes eyes of viewers move around. They also depicted gods with smaller figures. These two statues have many differences as they are made of different materials and have different poses even though these have similar composition.…

After the arrival of the Europeans, colonization in Latin America and North America began to evolve. When they first sought to establish their presence in the Americas, they brought technology not available to the peoples they encountered. Spanish conquerors defeated the Aztec and Inca empires and imposed their own rule in Mexico and Peru. In later decades, Portuguese planters built sugar plantations on the Brazil coastline. The French, English, and Dutch migrants displaced indigenous people in North America and established settler colonies under the rule of European people. The French and English took over North America and Spanish and Portuguese took over South America. These colonies, northern and southern, had political, economical, and social similarities as well as differences.…

I needed to decide on what kind of job I would enjoy as well as be skilled at. I love helping people and working closely with people, so I decided that a regular office job would not suit me. I need something to challenge me and hold my interest. My academic strong suits are science and math; it would be best if I chose a career that is science and math oriented. To help with the decision, I took the True Colors personality test. My results were Green, for my dominant color, and Blue and Orange were tied as my secondary color. My dominant color, Green, implies that I am analytical, abstract, curious and a complex thinker. My secondary colors, Blue and Orange, signify that I embody traits such as being energetic, hands on, nurturing, and honest.…
