In both shows power is shown as who can kill the most people, and vampires. In The Vampire Diaries power is not only shown by who can kill the most, but who is the fastest and strongest to intimidate others. In The Originals power is shown by who can control the city by the fear of others. Which allows the originals to inflict punishment when someone rebels. In The Originals power is based on who fears them unlike in The Vampire Diaries when power is measured on an individual

    The theme of power is prevalent throughout the novel Of Mice and Men. Steinbeck uses various methods and techniques to establish the dynamics of power on the ranch. In the first extract, George and Lennie are in the brush and we get a strong sense of George’s parental control over Lennie, but it also shows how Lennie’s physical stature gives him a degree of power over George.
