Pablo Picasso’s painting “Guernica” and Nicolas Poussin’s painting “The Rape of the Sabine Women” as a few similarities. Therefore, they also have differences. The paintings were different eras and times. Although, they lived and painted in different places they were still amazing painters. The “Guernica” painting is in black and white. “The Rape of the Sabine Women” is in color. There are different shapes and sizes in the paintings. There are many textures  used in the paintings "Guernuca and "The Rape of the Ssabine Women". They are both in the Baroque Era. Last they are both on canvas. The first painting is of Nicolas Poussin’s painting “The Rape of the Sabine Women”. The birthdate and place of  Nicolas Poussin was  June 15, 1594 in Les Andelys, France. He died November 19, 1665. He focused on his paintings and drawings. He was also a prodigious draftsman. Poussin was a major painter of the French Baroque. A majority of Nicolas Poussin's paintings were done in Rome. He would not paint genre scenes at all. The paintings of Poussin were from the seventeenth century. The color scheme was done to suite the picture he was painting. In Nicolas Poussin's early years, he studied in Paris. The painting Guernuca by Nicolas Poussin was painted in the year 1636 in France. The medium of the painting is oil. First of all the dimensions of the painting is 1.59 × 2.06 cm (0.6 × 0.8 in). The painting was started in between 1637 and finished in 1638. Second of the art period is Baroque. Also, the subject was the scenery The Rape of the Sabine Women” is in color. There are two versions of the painting. The Rape of the Sabine Women is geometric. Although, Nicolas Poussin's painting has both positive and negative shapes. The images are not overlapped. Poussin’s paint is of a woman that was kidnapped.
