The Nerdlucks were tired of being servants to Mr. Swackhammer and decided to join the Looney Tunes. Moments later, Michael Jordan realized that his upcoming baseball game was in five minutes. Jordan subsequently received a “rescue from without” and the Nerdlucks offered to drive him to his game in their UFO. Michael Jordan was highly respected and considered a legend in the animated and real word, which made him the “master of the two worlds.” Once Michael’s journey was complete, the “freedom to live” represented the freedom of the Looneys and Nerdlucks without being dominated by the super-villain, Mr. Swackhammer; and it also represented Jordan’s freedom of choice with the decision to make his return in the…

Charlie Gordon should not have been the subject of the experiment. While Daniel Keyes in “Flowers for Algernon” portrayed hope for a mentally impaired man, Charlie Gordon, the operation failed with devastating consequences! Before the surgery, Charlie desperately longed to be a member of a society that he was unable to completely comprehend. Charlie, as a genius, was permitted to witness the horrendous actions towards those with mental ailments. Additionally, Charlie was viewed as an experiment, deserving no rights or respect. After the surgery, once again could not relate and function normally in society, which was his only desire. Lastly, Charlie, the genius, understood that the effects of the surgery were, unfortunately, temporary. Through Charlie’s investigation of Algernon’s life, it became apparent that the operation was a failure. Although Charlie enjoyed his time of being a genius, he was saddened to see how society truly was.…

The aliens steal the talent of 5 NBA stars (Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, Muggsy Bogues, Larry Johnson and Shawn Bradley) and use it to transform themselves into the tall and muscular Monstars. Fortunately, the Monstars haven't stolen the talent of Michael Jordan because he has retired from basketball to pursue a career in baseball (and play golf) (which was a real-life event). Bugs Bunny gets Jordan to help them in their basketball game. The Looney Tunes manage to win the game and their freedom. Swackhammer berates the Monstars for losing, but then they realize that since they're no longer smaller than him, they don't have to put up with his bullying anymore. Short story Flowers For Algernon by Daniel Keyes gives the opportunity for many different themes. Even if I have only chosen one, ‘ Too much of anything is not good for anybody’ that does not mean that it is the only one that I can see throughout the story. Though I do find it to be the best represented. As the story starts out we see that the main character Charlie is obviously not very intelligent. Some might interpret this to mean that he is not very happy, but he is actually very enthusiastic about everything in his life and everything it has to offer. This is specifically shown when he is chosen to participate in an expirement/surgery that could potentially triple his intelligence. After Charlie goes through the surgery he starts getting tested on his intelligence level. Because he is only in the beginning process he starts to becoming frustrated at constantly failing these and feeling stupid. As the story progresses he starts to gain intelligence at a un humanly rate and have much more knowledge than anyone around him. During…

In anything that we would like to succeed I we must be determined. Determination is staying focused on a plan even though the path to its end may be difficult. When I was younger I was very determined to play sports, but my opportunities seemed limited. At my age I considered myself to be one of the best football players we had. Unfortunately, it was hard for me to actually showcase my talents, because sometimes I would miss or even have to walk to my practices or games.…

In Candide, by Voltaire, Candide succeeds in finding Lady Cunegonde only because of his shear determination. He was prepared to do anything and he did everything he could do to get her back. He sold all his jewels, traveled long and hazardous journeys, and even risked his life. His determination makes him do whatever he has to do. His mind was prepared to get to his goal: his motivation evolved from his determination to find his love, and he succeeds in it also. Determination is also seen in athletes and adventurers. Its there determined mind—the decision that they have to win—that takes them to their success. Without determination humans cannot succeed. Determination and ideas play a crucial role in our human condition.…
