The three character traits show that the third little pig is the most admirable. Hard-working, clever, and ambitious are the three character traits of the third little pig. The third little pig was hard-working because he used the bricks given to him by the man to build his house, preventing the wolf from destroying his house like he did to the other two pigs. The third little pig was ambitious because he got out of sight of the wolf in time to or else he would’ve been caught. The third little pig was clever because he was able to open the pot of boiling water, causing the wolf to fall in and be eaten. This story goes to show that even if you are weak or are the underdog, you could still outsmart the opponent using your…

The author of “Lon Po Po” states “When the wolf reached out, he could almost touch the highest branch. But at that moment, shang coughed, and they let go of the rope, and the basket fell down and down and down. Not only did the wolf bump his head, but he broke his heart to pieces.” This passage from “Lon Po Po” shows that the wolf dies in the children’s hands. The author of “Red Riding Hood” writes, and he gobbled her right up “Having enjoyed such a heavy meal he was soon snoring away. A hunter passing by was alarmed by the frightful racket. “That doesn't sound like granny,” he said. And so the brave hunter jumped in the window killed the sleeping wolf.” this excerpt shows that The wolf died in the hunter’s hands instead of in the children’s hands. It is clear that there are many differences between the two short stories “Lon Po Po”, and “Little Red Riding…

As for the tone of the stories, I would term both stories as direct, friendly, caring, compassionate and courteous (Lit. Kirszner & Mandell pg. 205). The language of both stories were, in my opinion, considered to be concrete. The metaphors or symbols of the stories were easy to envision. While reading the stories, I could actually picture myself in the classrooms with the students and being nine years old again in the fourth-grade, seeing what they saw and feeling how they felt about their teachers. They were stories that I could easily comprehend and identify with.…

Lastly, the conclusion i can draw about society based on this book is that African Americans were not being represented publicly given that this is a retelling of the Goldilocks and the Three Bears. At the time when the original tale was published (1837) there was much more racism than there is currently. Notably, slavery was still alive during that time, taking this in consideration there was no way you would ever see an African American in a school where whites attended nonetheless be seen in a book. I believe this book not only represents African Americans but also shows how they are not so different as they were being treated in 1837. As a child reads Leola and the Honeybears it exposes them to diversity, to multiple perspectives and values.…

There were many differences and similarities in this picture book compared to a normal book. Overall because i have never read a picture book i didn't really like it. My reason for thinking this is because when you read a picture book the big ideas are given and you have to come up with the small ideas, opposed to a write book with words where you are given details only and you make up the big…

The Jabberwocky included a reasonable amount of characters to express the story off with just two major characters along with one secondary character. The Jabberwocky only included the Jabberwocky and the mighty boy along with his father to be a minor character. In the Lorax, there was as well two major characters. Along with the two major characters, are various, minor characters such as the birds, a school of fish, squirrels, and more. For in both, as well seems to be that a hero’s life might be rough. The Lorax and Thneed seller are both against each other which costs the lives of the other minor character.Between the Lorax and the Jabberwocky are different because the story depends on the amount of characters and their…

First, by looking at the both book’s setting, they both explored evil by using a difference of the theme of evil. In the LOTF, it starts the story in the middle of war where atomic warfare happens. Piggy says, “Didn’t you hear what the pilot said? About the atom bomb? They’re all dead” this suggested that the war is happening at that time and by usage of atomic bomb, most of the people have been dead and they became separated from the outside world and this shows that the children have no parents or adults to look at him or to decide for them where children can decide everything they want.…
