The main themes of this poem are family relationships and communication. In this poem the author says "And he said nothing". In this quote we see the lack of communication between the parents and the son. Even though the family had good intentions for their son, it wasn't really in his best interest, or what he really wanted. The son did not say anything to his parents about not wanting to work at the bank. He never complained about anything, but just went on to graduate, and went along with whatever his parents wanted and told him to do. Therefore this tells us that the son wanted to work outside of the bank, because he felt trapped and caged when he was inside the bank. This is shown by the author saying "Like a young bear inside his teller's cage, his axe-hewn hands upon paper bills, aching with empty strength and throttled rage". His parents never knew that he wanted to work on the farms, because of the lack of communication between them. These quotes and information explain that the lack of communication between families is not good, and you should have good family relationships. The author is trying to tell us to listen what your children have to say, because parents always right.…

First, Blessing’s theme is way harder to find. While in The Count of Monte Cristo is hard but not as hard to find. In Blessings I think you have to read carefully about the characters and what they are talking about. The characters talk about many things and I was confused if they were looking at a map or a real place. The characters are important to theme too. The theme usually involves two or more people. In Blessings, you could say Jesse and Rene are best friends and then find the theme. I usually pay attention to the characters to see the…

School, also introduced in the storys beginning, conveys a feeling of comfort. This school refers to the sense of shelter in which the main character, William, feels obviously comfortable. Loss of comfort, the theme of this short story, is truly demonstrated through this symbol. William is a senior who has been attending his high school for the past for years and feels very comfortable there. However, William also knows that this is his last year as a high school student and therefore must soon leave his school, his sense of shelter. To him, school is a…

In “A Worn Path”, the theme though out the story is about a strong undying love an old woman has for her grandchild. According to Clugston 2010, the theme in a story is associated with an idea that lies behind the story. Every story narrows a broad underlying idea, shapes it in a unique way, and makes the underlying idea concrete. That 's how theme is created. In other words, the theme in a story is a representation of the idea behind the story.…

The entire crest has a kid theme to it, only due to the fact that my family adores children. My parents would do anything they possibly could to help children, whether it be sheltering them in our home for a few weeks or taking them a sack lunch every day. My sister has now taken over my old duty as the children’s choir supervisor and I volunteer regularly at Katherine Sage Temple day care out of Diboll. My families love for children will never cease, this being why it is the major theme of the entire crest.…

Laughter, let downs, memories, and regrets are all aspects of life itself. Explaining these aspects is the hardest part. When is laughter present? When are let downs expected? Where can memories lead? How do these all affect someone in the long run? The poem “Schoolsville” does a great job of representing life itself. It points towards life in general and explains the comical, serious and memorable, then poignant parts of life.…

The theme of a story is the idea behind the story. Every author begins writing a book, article, short story, or whatever because of an idea they had. Every story or piece of literature has a theme to it. The readers, however, may come to a conclusion about the theme that the author never meant. In Little Red Riding Hood, one might come to the conclusion that the theme is to portray the consequences of the loss of one’s virginity at an early age.…

    The Theme Of Growing Up

The theme of Growing Up is to enjoy your childhood and don't grow up too fast. I think this is the theme because on page 8 it said " She hugged her doll.Something was happening to her, and it might be that she was growing up.When The news ended , and a song started playing, she got up and washed her face without looking in the mirror." This shows that the theme is to enjoy your childhood because that worry that Maria felt is only felt by adults. As kids you don't realize how easy you have it and how hard life really…
