Comparing Love In Shakespeare's Romeo And Juliet

Love is perceived many different ways due to many different exposures of love. Movies and other sources of entertainment can many times be the culprit of the various perceptions. In these medias, love is shown as always working out in the end or the exact opposite, never working out. Another exposure is the relationships someone is around throughout their life. A powerful emotions like love is not perfect or easy. The emotion is something someone can never master to perfection even in a lifetime. Emotionally straining at times, love is not always healthy or rewarding, but when it is nothing can compare to it. Lust should not be in the vocabulary of someone defining love. Love is caring deeply, developing a strong connection without restrictions.
Religion is a very difficult concept, and something I have struggled with during a of time in my life, since I did not care that deeply about it. In the play, both characters commit suicide for each other, seemingly for the sake of romance. To make that fast of a serious connection in a few days, then to be willing to give the precious gift of life up, is absolutely ridiculous and not even close to practical. Love is not Romeo and Juliet’s love, that is what lust is. Romeo and Juliet allow for audiences to have a false, unrealistic view of love. No emotion or real connection is present. This happens throughout time, when entertainment makes love look easy or unrealistic. For something to be considered love there must be an emotional connection to the point of absolute
