Comparing Hawthorne Road, Wyena Street, Camp Hill
1. Introduction
In this report I will be comparing the livability between two streets in Brisbane, Hawthorne Road, Hawthorne, and Wyena Street, Camp Hill.
In this comparison I will be taking into consideration the amount of traffic, access to bus stops, shops, schools, parks, the litter, the noise, how nice the houses are, and how nice the trees and gardens are. Take into consideration how nice the houses are and how nice the trees and gardens are, is my personal opinion, and others may rank the houses and gardens differently.

This is because Hawthorne Road is very busy and very noisy. Hawthorne Road is also very long and therefore it would take quite some time to access all of the facilities on the road with all of the traffic. In contrast, Wyena Street is quiet, calm, and is quite a short street. Even though there isn’t anything to access on Wyena Street except for the foot doctor, there are several schools and parks nearby. However, Hawthorne Road does have more shops than Wyena Street, and Hawthorne Road also has better paths and street lights than Wyena Street. The houses on both of these roads/streets generally look nice, but there are less old houses on Wyena Street. In summary, even though Wyena Street is quite small, there Hawthorne Road. Many people drive up Hawthorne Road, as it is an easy way to access Bulimba, and many other popular places, which is also why Hawthorne Road is a bus route. There are also a lot of shops, and a school to access on Hawthorne Road. This makes Hawthorne Road very busy, very noisy, and more dangerous. Wyena Street, however, is located in a quieter, residential area. Since there aren’t very many businesses on Wyena Street, and there isn’t really anything to access, Wyena street is calmer. There are many other streets that are almost identical to Wyena Street that you can drive up to get to places. Since Wyena Street is less popular, it is quieter and cleaner. In summary, the reason why Wyena Street is more liveable than Hawthorne Road is because it is located in a residential area, where there are less cars driving by, and where is quieter and

Hounslow High Street is large shopping area, dedicated to pedestrians only, in comparison with City Road in Cardiff, which carries busy car- traffic and high competition between vehicles and pedestrians ('The Street’, 2009, scene 1). Traffic signs and street markings clearly indicate there is no entry for vehicles and there are several bollards to stop the traffic flow. The exceptions are buses, cyclists, mobility scooters and emergency services. Although the signs and street furniture are provided to benefit the street users, in general terms of giving information and guidance, it may be perceived also as potential hazard or obstructions by visually handicapped pedestrians or people on the wheelchairs. Traffic sings and street furniture are located primary at the centre of the footpath, which may limit the movement of the users and be experienced as threatening. In some circumstances it may lead to injury as most of them are painted in black, which makes them not clearly visible at night.…

Hastings Street is a street of diversity. Without this street, many of Vancouver's best tales would not exist. From west to east, this major transportation corridor contains Vancouver. The street developed as soon as Fort Vancouver settlement was founded, and flourished as a major trade center on the Pacific Northwest Corridor. As time goes by, the street divided; train stations, convenience stores, tailor shops, Chinese community centers, medical cannabis dispensaries and skid rows developed.…

City Road is a busy street in Cardiff. It has a variety of businesses and residents, creating dynamics which change according to the time of day. Many of the businesses are shops, such as Xquisite Africa which caters to the ethnic residents who have felt in the past that their needs were not met. There are also restaurants and takeaways that thrive at night, the majority of customers being local students and young people living in the area. The Making Social Lives DVD shows local resident Lloyd Robson talking to people who have access to City Road and it highlights differences in people's experiences and perceptions. Whilst a street is a relatively small area there are some people who benefit more than others from aspects of the street; it's infrastructure, such as street furniture and facilities, such as restaurants and clubs. There are some people who are actively disadvantaged by these same features and these can become inequalities. I would like to describe how certain people in society experience inequalities in City Road and give examples.…

Along with the addition of East Village, new roads were added and some old roads have been removed. Now, not only 8th Street can take us from the highway back to LaSalle. 4th street also goes all the way through campus. It is also the road that goes in front of the library, making it easier to access the library both during and after normal work hours. The road that used to be in front of the SLC and went from Bagby to 4th street is practically gone. Now it is a driveway to the SLC for all essential purposes. But in taking out this road, it took away from traffic being backed up on Bagby because people are no longer trying to get in and out of the Russell Gym parking lot from two different streets. There is also a new street that…
