Video game technology has made remarkable advancements over the last few decades. All aspects of new video game systems keep improving and the game play and graphics are more realistic than ever. Two of the most impressive new systems to be released are Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Sony's PlayStation 3 (PS3). Both have shown incredible improvements compared to their previous models. Although in my opinion, the Xbox 360 is a better purchase than the PS3. The Xbox 360 is $400 while the PS3 is $600. The Xbox includes one wireless controller, a detachable 20GB hard drive, a component HD audio/video cable, an Ethernet connectivity cable, a headset, and a power cable. The PS3 comes with one wireless controller, a 60GB hard drive, a USB cable, an Ethernet connectivity cable, and Bluetooth 2.0. The games have a realistic look, with fluid motion and crisp details. There is little, if any, difference in the resolution of the systems. It really depends more on the game being played. Wireless controllers are available for both the PS3 and Xbox 360. They are extremely convenient and far better than wired controllers in almost every aspect. The only downside to the wireless controllers is that they run on batteries which must be replaced when they die. This is a small price to pay for all the advantages they possess. The Xbox 360 controller weighs 9.5 ounces and the PS3 controller is only 4.9 ounces, giving Sony the upper hand. Both the Xbox 360 and PS3 allow online play, where you can play against and talk to other people all over the world. Sony doesn't charge monthly subscription fees to play against people online. You'll pay $5 to $8 for online access via the Xbox. But the PS3's online gaming service is missing a few advanced features, like universal feedback and matchmaking based on skill
