In the articles “How the Wolf Became the Dog” and “How the Dog Became Part of the Family” by Sarah Albee and Lauren Tarshis. Talk about why so many people have dogs for pets because dogs are very useful for the jobs they can do, so many have dogs for another family member, and dogs help kids. The first quote form “How the Wolf Became the Dog” talks about why owners have dogs for pets because of how helpful they can be.”Dogs were valued mainly for the jobs they could do” (Albee and Tarshis 25). The quote from Tarshis and Albee prove that dog owners have dogs for pets and not cats because dogs are used for the jobs they can do and help with. I think both cats and dogs are affectionate and caring once you give them a chance. Which animal shows most affection? Both animals do, a cat just chooses to show affection less. Both animals love you and will always protect you over any danger. Cats may have a bad reputation because of people that do not like cats, but they are loving and caring just like a dog or any other…

Looking at both animals, I can see a lot of differences but each has attributes that are similar. Cats need less grooming care than dogs and you do not have to follow them around with a pooper scooper. Most dogs, being larger and stronger than cats, offer better protection to guarding our home. Cats are usually quieter than dogs and take up less space. Most dogs are barkers that can sometimes cause problems with neighbors. Dogs need to be bathed on a regular basis but cats are usually self-cleaning. The cost of food for a dog is usually more than that of a cat and cats do not need to be let out into the yard or taken for walks.…

Purdue University states that “The Human-Animal bond is the dynamic relationship between people and animals in that each influences the psychological or physiological state of the other” (“Center”). The Human-Animal bond is essential to the well-being of society. Animals can affect people in many different ways, specifically by providing companionship. This bond has existed for thousands of years, though people’s relationship with animals is much different today than it was in the past. The main reason that the relationship has changed is the concept of owning pets, which is relatively new (Reinisch). The concept of pet ownership has changed the way people see animals because instead of thinking of animals as…

I read the article “Cats are funnier than Dogs”, written by Jesse David Fox. In this article, Jesse gave an idea that cats are more humorous and explained her opinion. The “funny” or “humorous” is based on cat’s characteristics. Cat is more self-centered. Different from other pets or animals, they think themselves are nobler and not willing to be demeaned. Therefore, cats are not very willing to obey order like dogs and making choice brilliantly and cleverly. For instance, Jesse said cats knew how to run away by flushing the toilet. Comparing with cats, Dogs are more loyal, obedient and friendly. They more like you friends and even your part of family. Because they listen to you and actually care about you. I have two dogs and my sister have…

I know this sounds trivial and silly but this particular connection is far more important than people would expect. Ph. D John Bradshaw states that although the owner’s bond with the animal will remain constant and strong no matter the species of the animal, their feelings towards you could be significantly different depending on which animal you choose. He then backs up this claim stating the obvious “cats are different from dogs”. This is something we all know but we probably don’t pay much attention to what that means when choosing an animal to grow a relationship with. For instance, a dog will need to be walked unlike a cat, which means you will need to commit to the extra exercise and work put into an animal, this may be why dog owners stress that their bond is much greater than those of a cat owner (Bradshaw, John, Ph.…

Cats prefer privacy and cover their feces when they finish where dogs do neither when they go. Cats seldom have body odors unless they are sick, old or obese. Dogs are not able to clean themselves like cats do , so dead skin and dander cling to their coats and can develop an odor. Cats spend over half their time licking themselves clean. When we as a society have religions and ideologies set in place, we forgo the possibility of the unexpected.
