Compare And Contrast The Fall House Of Usher And Thanatopsis

Edgar Allan Poe’s “ The Fall House Of Usher,” Emerson’s “ Self-Reliance,” and William Cullen Bryant’s “ Thanatopsis” issue several Romantic Traits In Bryant’s poem “Thanatopsis” the Romantic traits shown are: nature, and fear. At the beginning of the poem the narrator is afraid to die but then he hears something, it is “Earth and her waters, and the depths of air” then he hears a “ still voice” (Bryant 15-17)come from it. When the narrator thought about a “pall” or “narrow house” he would have “sad images” of it or he would “grow sick at the heart” and just look up “ under the open sky” (Bryant 10-14).
