Compare And Contrast Skyler And Nathan
My two friends are Skyler and Nathan. They are mostly alike, but do have some differences. They both are there when I need them and they always have my back. Nathanael Ohlde’s family is an average sized family. His family consists of his Mom, Dad, and two brothers. Nathan is interested in sports as most guys in our class. Football is probably by far his favorite sport. Being a starter he got a lot of playing time, even though he wasn’t always the greatest at moving his feet while blocking. He plays baseball and basketball even though he claims he doesn’t enjoy playing it. First base was usually what he played and sometimes pitcher. I always knew he had my back on the pitching mound making me laugh and calm down when times were not the greatest. He was always ready for me to throw to first base unexpectedly except one time, we don’t talk about that anymore. I don’t really watch him at basketball, but he’s better than me so I think he’s good. He arrives at school …show more content…
Both sides of the family seem to get along well and enjoy being around each other. Football is the only sport he enjoys playing and he’s decent at it. Tackling is one of his strong points, but running the ball and catching don’t go so well. Another topic we don’t talk about is when I threw the ball right on target to Skyler and he dropped it. He drives an older a 1979 Lincoln Continental Mark 5 to school most of the time. We always call it a boat because it’s so long in the front. When he’s with his dad he drives a Buick; it isn’t as unique as the Lincoln, but it gets him where he needs to go. Skyler is one of my closest friends, he understands me and likes everything I do. He listens to rock and Eminem all the time just like I do. He got me into rock music and introduces me to more everyday. His personality is he goes with the flow most the time and see what happens. Skylers like a brother to me he’s always there no matter

Of all, he has a great sense of humor. It’s sarcastic, casual and it’s pretty similar to my own. For example, the way he worships duck tape: “Yes, of course, duct tape works in a near-vacuum. Duct tape works anywhere. Duct tape is magic and should be worshiped.” or in chapter 11 when he questions: “How come Aquaman can control whales? They’re mammals! Makes no sense.”. He is a light-spirited person and if you were his friend you would be sure to share a laugh with him. Secondly, even though he hardly has real interaction with any other humans in the book, you can tell that he is a nice and understanding person because of the way that he is immediately concerned about his parents when he finds out that he is stranded on Mars. He forgives his crewmates as soon as he realized that they had left him on mars. He knew that they did…

Samson and Casey were two foolish men who made bad decisions. God gave Samson strength beyond human ability as long as he followed Gods rules, but Samson could not put aside his arrogance and lust in order to keep his gift. So God took his gift away and in the end Samson paid with his life. Casey was talented at baseball but his pride led him to miss a great opportunity which made people revaluate how great he actually was. They were both over confident which lead to their downfall. Solomon warned men about this very sin because he knew what damage it could do. “Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.” (Proverbs 16:18) The most disappointing component of both their actions was the fact that they had others depending on them. If their pride had not gotten in the way then they could have accomplished something great. They let people down and by their actions, displayed cowardice.…

    Laurel Baseball Narrative

Laurel high school has been the most glamorous of places to play baseball. The grass was scarce, dominated from large patches of dirt scattered across the outfield. Our batting cage left untouched for months at a time, creating a chest high jungle of weeds that consumed you as you entered. There were no perks of playing for the baseball program. The athletic director ignored us, the students didn’t support us, and the School wouldn’t adequately fund us. All we had were ourselves and an insatiable drive to succeed. I entered my freshman year out of shape, and with little baseball talent at all. I arrived at tryouts as an underdog, but I didn’t let that deter me. After three days of intense tryouts, I was named as a member of the junior varsity team. Unfortunately, The season didn’t go…

So we kinda knew we were gonna win, but we didn’t want to jinx it and lose. We had a fantastic game and won 14-1. I had a total 0 plays out in the outfield and that sure was a whole lot of fun. I went 3-4 when I was batting which is ok but I could have gone 4-4, Since I wasn’t seeing the ball out of the pitcher's hand I was late on the ball and was all in all, a bad game. Our season was doing really well and ended really poorly, It ended by us losing 9-1, We were not happy nor were we upset that we lost. but we understood we needed to get better. Whereas High school baseball is gonna be way better cause we don’t play the same teams we play easier teams. Which is nice because we will win much easier and not have any competition. The high school team consistently wins regionals which is cool and they have been to state a couple…
