Compare And Contrast Miep And Anne Frank
Miep and Anne are different because Anne thinks that she deserves to know what is going on in the War. Miep thinks that she should not know what is going on in the War because she thinks that her emotions will get to her and she will freak out about it.
Some people think that it is more important to notice Meip and Anne’s similarities than their differences. “Meanwhile the oppression of the Jews continued unabated. They now had to be in their homes from eight at night until six in the morning...Nothing worse could happen to a Dutch person than the loss of his bicycle(91-93).” Anne was a Jew and Miep was a Jew. They had to live such a different life. Anne lost almost everything that she had and Miep didn’t have to give up anything. The Jews had to go to concentration camps while Catholics didn’t have to go anywhere. The only difference is that Anne is a Jew and Miep is a Catholic.

On page 881, Anne says, “I’m going to be a famous dancer or singer… or something wonderful.” Even though Anne is hiding from people that are going to kill her and the rest of the people living with her are frightened, she still thinks that she will get out of the Annex and have a wonderful job and a great life.
In my opinion, it is much more important to understand Miep and Anne’s differences than their similarities. When you understand Miep and Anne’s differences, you can understand how they thught differently and how they acted

Imagine not being able to go outside for over two years and living with another family you have never met. As difficult as this may seem to believe, this is exactly what the Frank family and the Van Pels family had to go through, along with many other restrictions on their daily life. After the innocent killing of Jews during the Holocaust began, thousands of Jewish families were forced into hiding just like the Franks and Van Pels. Miep was one non-Jew who helped these families stay hidden by providing them with food, information, and many other items. They hid in the secret Annex in the back of Mr. Frank’s warehouse. To ensure they were well hidden, they disguised the door leading to the Annex as a bookcase. Mr. and Mrs. Frank had two…

She has learned that through hard times she can still find the happiness in life and can focus on them. Anne did not just make it through challenging times, she thrived through challenging times. We all should notice that no matter what was going on, Anne was seeing the joy and good in not only life, but in people as well. She showed us who she really was through this life changing experience. Anne demonstrates that we should keep our head held high when we face the struggles of life. I have learned from the Holocaust that no matter who you are, what you look like, your race, religion, or anything you can think of, we are equal. Now you are probably thinking, “shouldn’t she already know that?” The Holocaust has helped me to see it in a different way. It also showed me how cruel and selfish humans can be and how cruel and selfish I can be. A lesson all humans should know is that we are one. We are equal.
