The reason why Porfirio Diaz and Mama Elena similar to each other is that they both disagree with what people do. Porfirio Diaz treats his people by not caring whether they are poor or not, similar to how Mama Elena treats her daughter and forced her to work in a kitchen. This shows that both Mama Elena and Porfirio Diaz wanted to control other person that they didn’t care whether they like it or not.

    The most interesting short stories that caught my undivided attention were: “The Yellow Wallpaper” by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, and “Jealous Husband Returns in Form of Parrot” by Robert Olen Butler. These stories were both fascinating and intriguing in the sense that they made me feel like if I was the actual character.     Everyday, stereotype is used in the society. Sometimes, when people use stereotype on other people, they don’t even recognize it because it’s so common and is ignored by the society. It’s a way to judge people through their common believes based on ethnicity, gender, skin color, appearance and language of the people who are being judged.
