Compare And Contrast Get A Clue Book And Movie
The Westing Game book and movie, “Get a Clue” are quite similar and different from each other. In my opinion, the book was more appealing to read than to watch the movie. It was long, suspenseful and frequently changed point of view between characters. Instead, the movie was short, straight-forward, and focused mainly on Turtle Wexler. Although the plot, characters that remained, and storyline were similar. The similarities between the book and the movie were that the ten out of sixteen book characters were the same. The plot was also along the same lines and the endings matched up almost perfectly. They were spot on, but you could definitely tell they were based off each other without being told. All of these qualities made the book and

After watching the movie, Get a Clue, and reading the book, The Westing Game, I noticed many significant differences and similarities. These can change how you watch the movie or read the book. The differences that stood out to me the most were that the movie is told in Turtle’s point of view, there are less characters in the movie, and the characters’ personalities were different. The story can be changed by all of these, and these are the reasons why. The first difference I will talk about is the point of view in the movie and the book.…

In conclusion, there are more differences than similarities. One of the major differences in the movie was the story of how Eric Morse got dropped out of the 14th floor of an apartment building. Another major difference in the movie was how much David Issay appeared in the movie more so than the book. David Issay appeared more in the movie than the book. I believe that there were more differences than…

One thing in particular that the book does much better is making use of complex metaphors and themes, such as: the river for life, and oneness with nature, that string themselves together as you turn each page of the book, while in the movie the metaphors and symbolism are represented in a much different way through picture. In the book, both themes regarding the river are very vivid and clear, as they use strong imagery of nature to draw pictures in the minds of the readers. In the movie both themes are represented and referred to much less because of the lack of narration.…

In both the book and the movie, the plot is very similar but is also different. They both have lots of similarities and lots differences. In the book and movie, the plot is similar in the way that Leslie dies when use swings across the creek. It is different in the way that in the movie, Jess gets his hopes up to become the fastest kid in his class, than Leslie comes along and beats him. The plot also changes because the movie has less time to fit everything in that is in the book.…

Young men who are sent to a war learn the reality in a very harsh and brutal way. Both the stories, ‘The Red Convertible’ and ‘The Things They Carried’ portray the life of a young soldier and how he psychologically gets affected from all the things he had seen in the war. Tim O’Brien’s ‘The Things They Carried,’ is more specific on the experiences of a soldier during a war where as Karen Louise Erdrich focuses more on describing the post war traumatic stress in her short story ‘The Red Convertible’. One thing similar in both the narrations is the Vietnam War and its consequences on the soldiers. From the background of both the authors it’s easy to conclude that Tim O’Brien being a war veteran emphasizes more on the war scenes where as Louise Erdrich focuses mainly on the life inside the reservations, which makes sense as she has a Native American ancestry.…

There is a good amount of similarities between the book and the movie. A big similarity was the main boy getting to receive the first present in both the book and movie. The present was the silver bell from a reindeer. At first he could not hear the bells, but in the book and the movie he eventually started to hear them when he finally started to believe. Another similarity they share is the boy losing the bell. He ripped his robe in the beginning of the movie and book. Sometime before he got back on the train to go back home, it fell out of his pocket. This leads into the similarity that the boy on Christmas day gets the bell back by Santa placing it underneath their tree. When the boy picks up the bell him and his sister are the only ones that can hear it ring. But as he gets older and so does his sister, she starts not to hear it anymore. He hears the bell ring for the rest of his life. This also is a similarity that the book and movie share. These are the main similarities between the book…

After reading a book and then watching the movie based on that book, generally people will say they feel disappointed because the movie lacks its heart and substance. Even though the movie The Scarlet Letter, directed by Roland Joffé, is based on Nathaniel Hawthorne’s novel, it offers different characters and plot than the novel. However, the book captivates people more. In both, the story takes place in Boston, Massachusetts, in seventeenth century. The Scarlet Letter is about Hester Prynne, a beautiful, young married woman from England who commits adultery with the respected minister Arthur Dimmesdale. When Hester’s husband, Roger Chillingworth comes to Boston after two years’ absence, he finds his wife has been unfaithful to him, and now has a baby, named Pearl. Furious about the betrayal, Chillingworth plots his revenge. The Puritan society is angry at Hester, and pressures her to confess her lover’s name, but she refuses. To punish her, they constrain her to wear the scarlet letter A. In the movie, Demi Moore stars as the pretty woman who commits adultery, Hester Prynne. Gary Oldman plays the admirable Minister Dimmesdale, and Roger Chillingworth is played by Robert Duvall. The Scarlet Letter of Nathaniel Hawthorne is an amazing novel but Roland Joffé’s movie does not catch the essence of the novel, and the changes in characters and plot alter the message of the novel.…

Having stated how each economic system works, both systems contradict each other on three major points that both share which is property, the pursuit of, and how they control the economy. In a capitalist economy, property (that generates income) is privately owned as to a socialist economy where property is collective owned, which means that such property is regulated by the government. Socialism is on the pursuit of collective goals, where capitalism hails “entrepreneurial spirit” and…

The film ran pretty close to the actual book. The dialogues for the most part were exactly the same and the scenes in the movies seemed to fit those of the book very well. Many of the differences were very minor and insignificant. There were a handful of differences that are worth noting however. Many of them are scenes left out of the movie that occurred in the book. A few times something is switched around. I had a list of differences from the film that spanned 3 pages but I selected a few of the main ones.…

During our life most of us experience falling in love and riding a roller coaster. When you think about they are both very similar but yet have some differences: you get butterflies in your stomach, they are exciting, scaring, have their ups and downs, and sudden turns along the way. However, there are some very unique differences: you don’t have to pay to fall in love, falling in love involves two people not a cart full, anyone can fall in love, but you have to be a certain height or weight to ride a roller coaster, you can’t put on the brakes on a roller coaster, but you can when falling in love, & unlike falling in love you want a roller coaster to eventually end, when falling in love you want it to last forever.…
