Best Coast vs. East Coast In a country the size of the United States of America, there will always be considerable debate when it comes to which Coast is the most appealing in terms of lifestyle, beauty, climate, food, and time zone, the East Coast or the West “Best” Coast. While there are always pros and cons to each Coast, when they are put up against each other, clearly the West is the Best. Despite each region having their differences, they both have some similarities as well. A person can go watch a baseball game on Saturday and a football game on Sunday both on the East and the West Coast. One could also go to the beach or go to a concert on either Coast. These similarities do not outweigh the many differences there are between the West Coast and the East Coast. There is a three hour time difference from Coast to Coast. The East is three hours ahead and the West is three hours behind. This proves to be a big difference because it alters many television programs and other entertainment figures on each Coast. “Rural people have been inclined to maintain these cycles in phase with sunset and sunrise. They tend to arise earlier in the summer, when sunrise is earlier than they do in the winter (Siegel 1).” For example, a football game is scheduled for an eight o’clock start time on a Sunday night on the East Coast. Now, on the West Coast, it is only five o’clock. The people watching this football game on the East Coast will have to stay up until midnight to watch the game to its full extent. But people on the West Coast watching the game can just watch the game and get to bed as early as eight or nine o’clock if they would like.
